THank you!!! I see pics with these in kids mouths all the time and I always think "do they seriously let their kid fall asleep with that?" I hope it's for daytime use only....

Older kids, okay, fine. I see the novelty. But my friends baby is just shy of a month old. I'm paranoid when he's not making noise in the backseat of the car. I cant see myself being able to relax with this giant smother ball in his face.
These were posted on here a while back. I didn't see the point. They look heavy and smothering. My DS can barely keep his pacifier in his mouth as it is. I couldn't imagine him doing it with a toy at the end.

I would understand the hesitation with a brand new baby, he's been sleeping this way since he was 2 months old though. ::gasp:: I know.

I think that's actually part of the point. They would be harder for them to push out with their tongue cuz there's extra weight, assuming baby is laying on his/her back with the stuffy on his chest. I just bought one for DD because she likes to hold onto something while she sucks on her soother (usually my finger, which doesn't exactly help me get things done). She'll only use it when supervised though.
We have the Wubbanubs which are similar. They're actually really tiny. Remember when McDonald's beanie babies were all the rage? They're about that size. We only use ours during the daytime right now, nor really because of a smothering fear but because LO pulls it out of his mouth in the middle of the night and wakes him self up. When he gets older we'll put him to bed with it since he's already learning how to manipulate it to get it into his mouth.

This is how G sleeps almost every night, usually on his side with a blanket up against his face and it smashed into the side of the Boppy.
DD sleeps this way too. I usually sleep that way, so I figured she just takes after her momma lol You certainly get no judgment from me! I just don't think I could get any sleep with one of those things lol
We have a wubbanub which is similar, and that thing is a life saver. The stuffed animal on the end is what keeps it in... it gives DS something to wrap his arm around so he can keep the soothie in. He just spits any other pacifier out and can't get it back in on his own yet so he gets frustrated. With the wubbanub since he's holding the stuffed animal he can almost always get the pacifier back in his mouth. FWIW in the couple weeks he's had it I've never seen the stuffed animal even touch his face... idk maybe it's because ours has a soothie on it.

This.
We use a wubbanub, which is similar, but DS doesn't fall asleep with a paci. I only give it to him to calm him down if he's overtired. He pops it out as soon as he's asleep. I'm usually holding him the whole time. He likes to clutch the stuffed animal. Also, the stuffed animal is TINY and very light. Honestly, his clothes coming up over his mouth/nose is more of a suffocation hazard than that stuffed animal.
The two men in my life. Oh, and I have a husband too...
We also have a Wubbanub (see siggy) DS waves his hands around a lot an knocks out his paci. The (tiny) animal gives him something to hold onto. He only gets it during the day though.
