one week before Christmas? This weekend is kinda a little laid back, suprisingly enough. But it is only because we found out yesterday that dh has off work until Jan. 3 2011... sucks that they couldn't have told people earlier than the last day but sincehe will be home the next few weeks, I don't feel the need to run, run, run and get things taken care of. We still have quite a bit of shopping to do but the kids have school on Wednesday and then we are off for the holiday. We can get much more accomplished with them at school.
Last night my nephew came to stay with us, just for the night. My brother is finishing his school stuff up and needed extra study time. He graduates the Fire Academy at the end of January! My sil had to go to her brother's ceremony. He is being ordained in downtown Detroit.... lots of walking in the cold, bad parking, and my nephew be quiet? lol... He is just fine here.
So we are just chilling out at home and later tonight we may make our Gingerbread house. I have to get dh to finalize plans with his family on what time they will be here on Christmas Eve.
That is that... what is everyone else up to? Hope you guys can take it easy sometime... feet up with hot chocolate in hand!
Re: What is everyone doing...
Work tonight, then the next two days off (Sunday and Monday are my weekends). Tomorrow we're finishing our baby and Christmas shopping with a trip up to the city, and I'm resting the rest of the time per doctor's request.
I took friday off to spend the day shopping with my sister which was great. Of course pregnant me is not the same as non pregnant me which I forget and almost had a freak out when my hands started swelling and getting puffy. Sitting down and drinking something took care of that one. Then mom treated us to a manicure.
Today is going back to mom's, church, dinner with the family.
sunday we are decorating the tree and then it's a week of pre-christmas craziness of wrapping, picking up family at the airport, helping mom get the house ready etc..
We're trying to get our new offices finished so we can move stuff out of our current office (which will be the nursery). We have yet to do anything for the nursery and it is kind of freaking me out.
We also need to finish up our shopping. I still can't believe Christmas is 1 week away. Where is time going?
Tomorrow we have Christmas at my grandparents house so it will be a time to relax and enjoy family.

I'm working today, then tonight we have both a grad party for a friend AND a dinner party with one of DH's coworkers, so I will be amazed if I make it to the end. Tomorrow we sleep in and relax...maybe go return some duplicate items we received to BRU and then another coworker potluck for DH. Monday (my other day off) is super busy - ob appointment, networking lunch for me, looking into a possible new job, and a private practice client in the evening. Monday is also our 1-year anniversary!
But we will go out to dinner Tuesday night since the nice restaurant we want to go to will be closed Monday...
I really don't have that much Christmas stuff to do, since we already mailed my mom's gift, DH's family doesn't really give gifts (except to the kids), and DH and I decided to buy ourselves the X-Box Kinect (and Biggest Loser Game to help me take baby weight off - yay!) for Christmas.
My dh works all weekend so today I'll spend the day baking and wrapping presents. Tonight we're supposed to watch "The Happiest Baby on the Block". We've had it in from netflix for a couple weeks and just haven't had a chance to watch it.
Tomorrow is church and then I'll go hang out with my parents. When dh gets home from work we may go and see some more Christmas lights or go to Dave and Busters. We haven't decided yet.
I have a small cold right now. Eternal runny nose and dizzy head, but I feel pretty lucky- it's nowhere NEAR as bad as the cold I had not too long ago!
Just need to buy some stocking stuffers and a play kitchen for DD and we're done! Whoo hoo!
