Holy cow, I just met Kevin Bacon!! X-Men update! pic added

So, I was at work today, dragging through my last day before vacation and as I'm walking through the center I hear this buzz that Kevin Bacon is here.

I immediately asked if our marketing director was with him because I figured he was on a tour, no one was. I was like well someone needs to go talk to him and offer him a tour. Guess I was the lucky winner, because I was the only one with the guts to do it.

He was really nice and I gave him about a 45 minute tour. He said filming was going well. He was really excited about the honey we use on the turtles because he uses it on himself when he gets a burn.

To fun! I even got an autograph for DH!

Totally made my last day at work before vacation more exciting.

Wow! This post reminds me of the 'Kevin Bacon' commercial.....where Kevin Bacon dresses up as an old mand and THE biggest Kevin Bacon fan....really funny!

That is SO cool!! I love when celebs are nice and down to earth, some are just annoying IRL. I didn't know he was in the new X-men movie! I would have been way nervous to have to give a tour, you're brave!

DH and I love that commercial he has right now, it's so funny. He's awesome!

Autumn- We have one picture with him, two of our interns our sea turtle, mascot and myself. I'm going to hold off on posting it until I hear from our director since it wasn't an official visit. I plan to put it on facebook though

Ginger- I was a little nervous. I was more worried that I was going to say the wrong thing and make the bosses mad them him. He really is low key and nice so it was just like another guest. I was really impressed by that.

That's awesome that he didn't make you feel nervous, but yeah I'm sure that is a lot of pressure at work to give the tour and all the info to such a VIP.

I always remember the celebs I've met who were nice and down-to-earth versus the ones who were jerks IRL. It is really cool when they don't seem so full of themselves. Living where I do, and working at Four Seasons, I've met my fair share and I definitely have a naughty and nice list of my own and try to see/not see movies/shows accordingly. Glad Bacon can go on my nice list, I love him as an actor!

Thanks! My job is pretty fun. I don't make a ton of $, but my life is like National Geographic meets the Discovery Channel so it's a great trade off!

I have a biology background, and got into it originally by luck during Spring Break senior year in college. My friends and I toured a facility and I showed up the next day and offered to help (that was wicked scary to do!) They offered me an internship and I've been working with turtles (and some other critters and things along the way) ever since.
