FFFC (guys and dolls?)

I bought a life-sized doll and a stroller in anticipation of giving it to my friend's daughter for xmas.  But when I got it home Simon saw it and wanted it so I let him play with it.  DH got home and freaked out thinking I bought a doll for S.  Today I let him push the stroller with the doll in it all over the house and now I can't give it to my friend since it's used so I told DH I was going to let S keep it.   He is so pissed that I gave him a doll and he thinks the doll is really creepy looking.  I texted my friend a picture of it and she freaked out too.  They both say S will grow up confused if I let him play with dolls.  Why is everyone flipping out over this?

    Nothing is wrong with boys with dolls!  Sheesh!  

    Can you get the doll a little "boy" outfit?  There used to be a boy doll called "My Buddy," maybe show your husband that.  

    Man, it's just a doll, not hormone therapy.  ><

    That is so not a big deal. Oy. I got a doll for Orchid that Ari plays with so sweetly and nicely -Orchid just punches its face and goes for Ari's trains and truck. I think there is nothing wrong with boys playing with dolls. Ithink there is something wrong with people who think there is something wrong with it.

    I hated dolls when I was a kid.  If Miller likes them, I will be fine with it.  I even think DH would be OK with that.

    And what are ACTION FIGURES???  Dolls with a manly name.  Tim played with GI Joes and I remember a boy in the neighborhood whose GI Joe who would try to capture our Barbie dolls.

    It IS a boy doll.  You'd think I'd know my husband after 15 years but I was surprised by his reaction.  LOL on the hormone therapy!

    funny you should say  that, because my facebook status last weekend was that my beautiful baby girl is a bully!!! hahahaha

    We talked about this at dinner tonight with DH, my mom and brother.  DH is the youngest of 5 and the only boy - he grew up playing with barbies in the bathtub, so he's good with the doll thing for boys.  And my brother just said "sheesh."  And then asked when he could get Ellie Bob the Builder toys.  Isn't it interesting what can freak some folks out?  DH didn't mind spending the $$ for the daycare teachers, but goes absolutely ape that we get a gift for someone who is paid.  I kid you not, days before he fully recovered.

    Why is it okay for little girls to play with boy's toys and not the other way around?  IMO - there is nothing wrong with boys playing with dolls.  I'd say let Simon keep the doll and your DH needs to get over it.  Tell him Simon is in training to push around his own baby when he is a dad.  Sorry, this is one of my soapbox issues.......that and colors.......
