I stole a hat at gymboree today ...Im an idiot !!!

I didnt mean to ! I SWEAR . We were shopping for hats and I tried 3 on him and they all looked great but decided that he didnt need 3 but 2 would work lol .Well I went up to pay , payed for the two and went on my way . I got to the car and started it put the baby in to stay warm and then went to break down the stroller . When I took the diaper bag out and folded it up a hat fell out . I FELT LIKE AN ASS . Do I just bring it back next time ??? I obviously wasent about to take my sleeping baby  back out into the cold and go play with the people in the mall again ,just to return something ( I was in the last aisle in the parking lot a 8 minute walk into the mall as it was ) . Will I look like an even bigger ass by bringing it back ???

    donate it. the store factors theft into there budget, and although you didn't "steal" it, it's gone. Your LO may not need 3 hats, but I'm sure there is a baby out there that would love to have 1. Just my opinion - helps clear your conscience and not make you feel like an idiot.

    I have worked in children's retail for over 4 years.  The employees work so hard to "keep" the merchandise from walking out the door.  Unfortunately, it happens all too often.  Please return the hat.  It will help out that company, and you will feel a lot better about it too.

    When you bring it in next, just explain what happened.  Believe me, you aren't the first parent that went through this!

    Just return it next time you're at the mall. Just explain to them what happened, it's not a big deal as long as you return it.

    I did this at Target a while back.  Since I meant to buy the outfit i bought for DS anyways, I went in and paid for it.

    Yes, the next time you're at the mall please explain the situation and pay for it.

    I'm a teacher and a while back got a green poster at a teacher store (79 cents) and had it laminated at the store. I paid for the laminating and walked out without paying for the poster. I realized it the next day (Sunday) and flipped out! The worst part to me was knowing it was a Christian store that I stole from! I went back right after school the next Monday to pay for it and they appreciated my honesty. So please, go back and pay. It will feel good and clear your conscience. Smile
