sore throat..

Sooo I have had this nasty cough for a week now & it recently started getting really scratchy feeling...i'm sooo afraid its going to be strep!!  Has anybody had strep while pregnant??  Im just sooo sick of this cough.  I've been drinking a ton of water, taking my prenatal vitamin & vit. c drops & cough drops.  Any suggestions??  I'm gonna try gargling salt water & see if that helps.

    That stinks!  :[  I say go get a culture, it couldn't hurt.  But from my experience, strep brings a fever along with it and it also feels like there is a lump in your throat when you swallow.

    Maybe it's post nasal drip making your throat so scratchy?  Let's hope!

    From what I've heard, strep is more painful than a typical sore throat and is usually accompanied by a low grade fever.  As PP said, go get a swab if you are worried, but sounds like you just have a cold and some post nasal drip.  If its strep, no big deal.  You just need some antibiotics.  Hope you feel better soon. 
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    I myself have had a sore throat and sinus-like infection. As soon as I mentioned to my OB she put me on antibiotics b/c she said she wants anything I may have cleared up before LO arrives. Maybe put a call into them...if not you could end up on antibiotics while in the hospital.
