Parenting after 35

what other boards do you frequent & why do you like this board so much?

I'm on Toddlers 12-24 and they have been pretty helpful there.

I love this board because we seem to be like-minded in many parenting styles and well....I don't feel as old! lol

  • I'll post on the Toddlers board, too, if I want a range of answers (since this group is smaller) but mostly I stay here. The reason is: drama free zone.

I'll also occasionally post on my local Nest board.  The Northern NJ board is quite active and the ladies are very helpful. If I posted there more frequently, and got to know the "regulars" I'd probably feel less lost there. But since it's so active, it's hard not to feel that way when you're an infrequent poster.

  • I read 9-12 but rarely post. I find myself unsympathetic to some of the "problems" (so so said something bad about me on FB) and can't really deal with the bitchiness. Plus they just move too fast.

I visit some of the specialty boards when I have an issue in that area.

This board is where my friends are. I've been with some of these ladies since back in TTC35, picked up some more in PG35 and added even more friends since moving over here. I feel like they are a part of mine and Caroline's lives. Plus, I like to know that my 80's references will be understood and appreciated Wink

  • The only other board I visit is the baby names board.  It's like a train wreck in there sometimes, so I make myself some popcorn and watch the drama!! HA!

This is the only board I really post on, tho.

  • I have been on the Breastfeeding board quite a bit as I have a lot of questions about that.  I also read the Toddlers 24 months+ and the Working Moms boards and will post there occasionally.  But I definitely love this board for the lack of snarkiness and the fact that I can ask any sort of question and not be judged or belittled.  And I appreciate how the ladies on this board have all become real friends and know and care about one another.  I think that says a lot for the type of women who are on this board and this is the kind of place I prefer to hang out!

  • I do a lot of lurking on 6-9, 9-12, working moms, ttc+35, high risk pg.  I rarely post on those boards though. I'm similar to Laura that much of the conversations don't interest me much but I do like to read responses to topics that that I've been thinking about but haven't bothered to post myself.

I really like the ladies here. They are very caring, witty and we are all very respectful of one another. And they give great advice.

  • I have been on the 6 to 9 month board and the Working Moms board.  I get bored over there because it seems to be the same thing over and over and over and .....  Here there is something new most days.  If I want to be a voyuer, I go to Connect with Pampers to watch the fur fly.

  • I post on the SwapMoms board and the Working Moms boards.   I lurk on the Babies 9-12 months as some of the info seems to be pretty informative.  I've started lurking on the TTC-35, but am not ready to commit yet.

This is my main board - I love the info that is shared here and the lack of judgement.  I feel comfortable in sharing on this board, unlike some of the others.

  • I go to the Health & Exercise board. I teach fitness classes so it's an interest of mine. Sometimes I'll go to the Breastfeeding board, but it gets a bit overwhelming.
  • Just here & Special needs.  I like to help out people with the same issues as my oldest (Cleft, Duane Syndrome) & maybe my youngest (Celiac???). I really like this board because everyone is sooooo nice & it is such a nice little community.

  • Congratulations to all of you for having class and not stirring up drama!

That's what I love about this board too.

  • I've been on the toddlers 12-24 more than any of the other ages boards.  It seems like some of the drama is quieting down, at least when I've been on, but I do often read things and feel old Sad  I check out our local board and sometime the Eco Friendly Family board maybe once a week.  These are the moms I know and so I trust the info much more here than the other boards.
  • This is my main board.  I lurk on Toddlers 12-24 and Working Moms and when I am really bored I will go onto Baby Names.

Every time I think Toddlers 12-24 was improving in the drama department something starts up.  But I do like hearing about the toy recommendations.

I like this board because it is drama-free and I have been with some of you ladies since Preg +35. That was before this board was even around!  We had all committed to staying on the Preg +35 because we had no where else to go!

  • This is my board - for all the reasons everyone else has stated.  I feel like I KNOW these women, and have been fortunate to meet at least one, and hopefully more, IRL.  Drama/judgement free and relevant advice and questions.

If I'm bored and want to read some drama, I'll lurk over on the "Relationships" board on The Nest.  That is like the Soap Opera channel!

This exactly with 12-24.  I also sometimes go on Working Moms board but that's it, I barely manage to keep up with this board!  And this board is by far the best!  YesCool

  • I sometimes read on the Toddler 12-24 months board or ask the occasional question if it's specific to that age. I also frequent the Health & Exercise board and the Nest Health & Fitness board (which is much more active than the Bump H&E board). Occasionally I'll go to my local board. But I feel most at home here, it's such an awesome community.

  • I am almost entirely here-only.  I check out pregnant after 35 lately, though I am mostly lurking.

  • This is the only board I am ever on. The others hold absolutely no interest for me. I sincerely adore these wonderful ladies. I just wish i had more time to devote to them. When I was not working, I talked to these ladies every day and I truly miss them now that I am working ten billion hours a week.
  • I am on the Single Parents board a lot but there is a drama there at times and reading all the individual stories can be depressing, HOWEVER I love the support we get/give from some of the ladies over there.  I tend to post there more than here but I like that you all here are the same age-ish as me and can see things on the same level.  Plus there is never drama here HUGE bonus :)
  • I am only here now. I started on PG after a loss then Parenting after Loss but there was a big shakedown and they created a private board on another site and it was a total pain in the arse so I bailed I've been here since the PG 35 when this didn't exsist.

  • Like all the other ladies, I feel the most comfortable on this board, not to mention that I have also been on here since the Preg after 35 and before the Parenting over 35 even existed (Thank you Bump Gods!).  I have been blessed with so many wonderful women/friends from this board and was lucky enough to have met one IRL, and hope to do more.  The only other board I will venture to is the Multiples board, where I have found an equally great group of ladies, but this will always remain my home.
