I have my first appt and u/s this Thursday; I'll be 7w3d. I'm so excited but also very nervous. This is my first pregnancy. Can anyone share what to expect?
My fear is, like most ladies before their 1st appt, that something will be wrong on u/s - no heartbeat, no growth, etc. I think it would be horrible to have to do all the other stuff (physical/pelvic exam, personal health history questions for me and DH) only to find something wrong on the u/s.
At your first appt, was the u/s first or did you do the personal history questions/pelvic exam first? Any feedback or your experience is greatly appreciated!
PS - there is really no reason for me to think anything is wrong.. I haven't had any spotting or bleeding or severe cramping. Just read a lot of unfortunate news about m/c on these boards and in WTEWYE so I'm probably overly paranoid!
Thanks!
Re: 1st appt with u/s
I am nervous too and I don't really have any reason to be. My dr is doing the u/s first, so I think that is pretty normal. My u/s and doctor meeting are actually two different days now because they want me to come in sooner for the u/s because of my b/w.
That is really all I have to offer. I haven't been pg for many years, and things are so different now too.
GL!!

There are a few things my doctor did at my first appointment but than again we had no idea of my conception date...
bloodwork to determine hcg levels and check for to see if I had HIV (it wasn't really a question if I did or not lol but it is routine).
an ultrasound to date the fetus
asked questions about person health history and history of stuff in your family.....
Altogether an exciting experience....Enjoy!
