I have some experience with AFM (I used to work in a program that dealt with foster children aging out of the system). It is fantastic for those with not much $$ for food.
I personally never ordered b/c it's a lot of processed food which I don't care for. But yes, the prices are pretty great.

Pretty much this-- I used to have a lot of parents of clients that I referred to AFM because they had a hard time keeping food on the table. I personally never did it because I always felt like it was for people who really couldnt make ends meet any other way...and I meal plan and it is a lot of processed (which is better than nothing--especially for a lot of the kids I was referring for). It is a great amount of food though!
A relative of my husband's runs the one through her church and buys through it, too. She says it's really a great way to save money and not really have to plan meals. Looking at the items for this month's menu it doesn't look that much different from what I would buy at the store for a week. The only reason we haven't bought from there before is that DH is a really picky eater and wouldn't eat some of the items included. From what I've heard, it's really for everyone and the food is good quality.
