Re: Updates to share

  • No pics, but baby is 2.5 pounds at 30w4days and developing normally. After 7 u/s' Dr.'s are reasonably sure that I am just having a small baby. They've ruled out various causes, with extensive testing, GD, hypothyrodism (tested every 4-6 weeks), infection and various genetic disorders. However, I get to go back for u/s #8 in 3 weeks. (I think we are on #8).

LO is looking good and not breech. YAY!

  • That great news Meg. 2.5lbs seems right on track, but what do I know. Big Smile Thinking back to my 33 weeker and she was born at 4lbs 10.5oz. Here's to an uneventful 10 more weeks.

  • Thanks! I think it's because I am AMA and have had 2 losses that they are being extra cautious...

    It's good to be cautious.

  • It's good they are being cautious, I'm sure it sets your mind at ease.  Just make sure to have lots of NB size clothes (such cute tiny little clothes!), John was 7lbs 12oz's and in NB size until he was about 3 months.

John will be 1 in a week!!  I know everyone says it, but time seriously flies by so fast, it's hard to imagine that tiny little baby that just slept and ate every hour is now a little boy *snif snif*

I officially have baby fever, but I know I'll have to be patient, we need to get some things in order first and John needs to move to the 2's room so we can afford DC for 2!

I can't believe John will be a year old. Happy Birthday little Man.

    Okay for my update:

We have finally put away the bottles, just like that cold turkey, well not exactly. Annabelle's been taking milk in a sippy at DC for about 2 months, but for whatever reason DH and I could not give up the bottles. Maybe we didn't want to let go, she's not our little baby anymore. We decided last night that we hated washing bottles and after 14 months we were done.

She is really close to walking, she's taking about 7 steps, before she just falls to the ground. We thought for sure she be walking by now, but she isn't ready just yet. Although she hit her head last night on the coffee table and her mouth was bleeding. It was awful. But I know bumps and bruises are going to happen.

  • Sean likes to make animal noises on demand and his new one is the elephant. When you say, "Sean, what does the elephant say?" he puts his arm in front of his face like a trunk and then makes this high pitched elephant noise. The girls at daycare think it is hysterical and between that and him fist-bumping everyone, he is just one cute little walking party trick. Haha.

  • Ella has finally settled on Gamma for my mom.  DH is out of town and I was running a little late last night, so I asked my mom to pick DD up from daycare.  I got home and made a quick dinner and then E and I sat down to eat.  My mom gave DD kisses and hugs and started leaving - E called out BYE GAMMA, mom said "Bye Ella"  Ella continued yelling BYE GAMMA"  BYE BYE GAMMA" the whole thing was so cute and sweet, I got a little teary.

Carrie - yeah, the party tricks just get better and better!

  • I guess I can play here now! My updates aren't as cute as everyone else's yet, but that's okay. The latest is that the NT results from the scan 2 weeks ago came back great - extremely low risk. So even though we weren't expecting any issues, it's still a relief. And as of this morning's appt, the baby is still in there with it's heart beating away! Next is our anatomy scan in 4 weeks. Can't wait to find out the sex!

That's great everything is going well!  Hear the heart beat was always what I looked forward to at every appointment, until I felt the baby move I didn't really feel PG, but hearing that heartbeat always made me misty; I remember thinking "wow, there is another heartbeating along right inside of me." It always left me a little in awe.

    Welcome Sarah.

I'm so glad to hear that everything is looking up. I remember waiting on pins and needles for those monthly appointments. Just wait until you start visiting the doctor every 2 weeks.

  • Joey went peepee on the potty twice today at daycare! Then when we got home he went poo on the potty! He was so excited he immediately ran into the living room and did 2 somersaults with no pants on LOL

we aren't putting any pressure on him to start potty training early.....it's the new thing at daycare to sit and "try" while waiting in line for your diaper to be changed : ) we'll take lucky moments like that!

  • UPDATE: Annabelle walked across the living room last night. DH posted a video on FB. I still can't believe it.

This is what they do at our daycare too - totally low pressure, but just give everybody a chance a few times a day.  Its working really well.

  • Rebecca's update: Not much new for her.  We are trying to introduce new words to her and have her repeat us.  She is really getting into coloring.   Sounds like she is starting to come down with a cold.  I just hope it doesn't interfer with her sleeping through the night as it usually does.

Pregnancy update: I go off the medication on Saturday and may or may not be returning to work on Tuesday.  I'm playing it by ear and see how I feel after two days off of medication.  Had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything is good.  Will be interested to see if I make it to the schedules c-section date.

  • I have enjoyed reading everyone's updates.  Matthew does a lot of animal sounds now (as well as a fire truck) which is pretty adorable.  He has also started recently taking his food and dropping it on the floor only to get down on his belly and eat it like a cat.  As you can imagine DH and I are thrilled about that one! lol
