is this normal?

rory turned a month old today. last week, he got his first cold.

he really isn't interested in nursing today.

because i'm still occasionally supplementing with formula, i tried to give him a bottle. he spit the entire ounce up.

i know i don't eat much when i don't feel well, but i'm starting to worry. he's still wetting and dirtying diapers, but i don't know whether that's from what he ate last night or whatever.

i'm really not familiar with this stuff; deacon didn't nurse for longer than six weeks and he never latched on properly so he was never actually fed at the breast.

thanks ladies.

Re: is this normal?

  • C was sick a couple weeks ago and lost interest in nursing.  Between feeling like crap and having a stuffy nose I'm not surprised.  When I'm sick I just want to lie around and sleep and stuff, so do babies.

  • Is his nose stuffy? I bet he is having a hard time with sucking if so.

I'd try saline/bulb sucker to get him nice and cleaned out and then try again.

i've cleaned his nose before every attempt at feeding. he shot a snot rocket at me yesterday and i wasn't interested in that happening again. LOL
