6-day early pregnancy test

This is my first post so hello...  :)  I am wondering what you ladies think about the early response pregnancy tests, the ones that say you can take 5-6 days before a missed period?  I am dying to take one, but also don't want to be discouraged/disappointed if it is negative because I am taking it too early.  I am so impatient!

Let me know what you think.  Thanks!!!

Juliet Katherine was born on 2/16/12 (4 weeks early) weighing 6 lbs. 2 oz.

They can definitely detect pregnancy that early, but just because they come out negative doesn't mean that you aren't pregnant.

It gets mighty expensive to take name brand tests every day until you see a BFP or AF though :)

I recommend heading to the dollar store and picking up a bunch of tests.  I got a BFP on a dollar store test at 9 DPO last time

  • You can test early, but don't be suprised or upset if it is negative.  They test for levels of HCG in your urine.  If your are early in your pregnancy you may not be producing high enough amounts to have a positive test.  The results are 99% accurate, in most cases, 1 day after your missed period.

I waited until 5 days after my missed period and got a test from the dollar store.  Also, in all honesty I wouldn't get in the habit of testing early.  It took me 11 months to get pregnant and each month that I got a negative test by testing too early crushed me and then I was crushed a few days later when my period would show up.

I would recommend waiting, pregnancy tests are expensive and emotions run high.  Good luck!

  • In order to absolutely accurate and sure I would wait till at least after your period is/was suppose to start. I went through that buy a test wait and wait and wait, and I took one of them a lil early and negative, but apparently I was positive just early bc Im now due in March

  • If you are a charter, my temperature went up by about 4 degrees and stayed that way...that is what got me to take the + test.  I took it a week before I missed.
