What names would lend themselves to Annie as a nn? Unfortunately DH doesn't like Anna (which I prefer and love!) I think he'd go for a more traditional full name. I need ideas though! Thank you
My youngest is named Annie Ruth ( after her g-grand mother and grandmother) so we liked Annie as a stand alone (obviously). I know other people don't like NN without a formal name but we areokay with it.

"And can it be that in a world so full and busy, the loss of one weak creature makes a void in any heart, so wide and deep that nothing but the width and depth of vast eternity can fill it up." - Charles Dickens
Annabelle was one of my top choices...Another is Giuliana, or you could spell it Juilianna. I am spelling it the first way to give her a sense of her Italian heritage...that is very important to me.
One of my mother's friends recently had a little girl and they named her Annalise, and I think that is beautiful.

Annie Ruth is adorable! I absolutely love it! Annie is one of my favorite girl names, but she will most likely be a redhead and I don't want people to think of little orphan Annie. Ruth is DH's grandmother's name and we will definitely use it as a middle name. Do you call her by both names?
My cousin's daughter is named Anais Antoinette, they call her Annie. (An-eye-iss...though I have seen Anna-ees as an alternate pronunciation). I believe she also has an umlaut over the second a.
I have another cousin named Annika but they call her Ani (Ahn-ee).
I love Annie, it's my mom's and my great grandmother's name (mom is Anne, Grammy Annie was just Annie). I would use Annabel in a heartbeat (I'm a big Poe fan, so this spelling only for me), but my DH vetoed =( Definitely my favorite Annie option.

My given name is Anne, but I've always gone by Annie. The only other Annie I've ever known is also an Anne.
