How long did it take you and DH to settle on a name for your LO?
DH and I are having a hell of a time deciding on a name. We have the middle name (it's my middle name, which is a family name) and we're not worried about it all 'flowing' together. We just can't agree on anything.
He's stuck on ONE name and I'm not a fan. I'm actually beginning to hate it.
Poor nameless Baby C. Maybe we'll figure it out by the time he's 18, LOL.
Re: Name Poll
I think naming Ella was an exception to the rule - we agreed on that name years ago, before we were even married, and we held on to it.
When we talk about future kids, though, it's rough. I think unless you have a family name you're going to use, agreeing on something is extremely difficult.
It's not like choosing home decor - even though you both live in your home, chances are one of you cares more about decor than the other. With naming kids, you both really really have to love it. It's your kid, not your window treatments.
I had just started tearing up reading your reply and then you asked that question - lol! So is it weird that I'm tearing up?
Gosh motherhood has made us soft, Lauren! Haha! Ridiculous.

Jonah was Jonah from the day after an U/S at 15 weeks when he showed us his family jewels. I LOVED knowing him as his name, and not just as "baby boy". It was the name I had picked, and DH said, "It's the only one I don't hate." Nice, huh?
Elliott, however, was another matter entirely. We fought the entire pregnancy, and had finally compromised on the name Bennett by 34 weeks. At 35 weeks, DH announced that he hated it, and so we were left with no name until about two days before when he suggested Elliott. In my mind it was still a toss up between B and E, and it took us until about 2 hours after he arrived to finally name him E.
I did NOT like not knowing the name until after he was born. It took me forever to get used to. I kept messing up and calling him Jonah and feeling mother guilt over not "knowing" my child (I know, I was a mess of hormones).
If we ever do this again, there will be a name at least by 20 weeks, whether DH has a part in it or not. He drove me nuts this last time!
