Parenting after 35

Tush Update

It's a fungal infection (ie. yeast) and he's on an Rx cream (Nystatin) 3x per day. I'm to use Triple Paste on top of the Nystatin for those diaper changes and alone on others.  Of course to keep him clean.

The ped we saw is new (the one who diagnosed Aaron's Torticollis and Brachy is on maternity leave) but she was nice. She said it could take up to 2 weeks to go away but if we don't see improvement in 1 week, to call back.

  • Poor guy. I hope it clears up sooner and that it's not bugging him too much.

  • Oh Robyn. I was thinking of you this morning. Sydney has a mild diaper rash (she never gets them). I can't imagine the hell you guys are going thorugh for this extended period of time. And having to get an Rx for it. Hope Aaron is on the mend.

  • Thanks, everyone.

It sucks that Aaron is uncomfortable (he grabs at his butt cheeks when I'm changing his diaper) but I noticed it looks a little better today.  Not gone, but an improvement. So I'm happy.

I wish I had gone to the pedi earlier so this would have been on the mend sooner. But I felt foolish about heading to the doctor for diaper rash. You live and learn.
