Hey!

Did you ever find out what was causing S's poop issues?  Priya had sever diarrhea (to the point of almost dehydration) for 9 days about three weeks ago, and it's returned the last three days.  

The first time she had a stool sample sent, it had negative bacterial results - indicating that it was something viral.  The thing is, if it was viral wouldn't the rest of us get it too?

Just wondering if S had any sort of diagnosis.  I'm at a loss here :(

 If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them too!!

    Oh no!! :( I'm so sorry to hear this.

    Sabrina didn't have any kind of testing done... doc just told us to stay away from all dairy, to up her solids but keep it BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) like, to push the pedialyte. Because it went away and came back within a week and a half he said that it could take MONTHS to clear- that there was something in her that took away the good enzymes and basically making her lactose intolerant. He said it was up to us if we switched her to a soy formula because she was old enough to take whatever but we just stuck with the Pedialyte for like 2 weeks straight and I swear she was becoming addicted to it- and she'd drink it like non-stop. Finally DH found an already made formula specifically made for diarrhea. We gave her two bottles and BAM- no more diarrhea. Then we started giving her soy, and again, the diarrhea stayed away. We kept her diet BRAT like, too. Doc said that she might still get loose poops but as long as it wasn't consistent, it was OK and she could go to school.

    Bottom line is we stayed completely away from all dairy for almost a MONTH to ensure this would go away...and then when we went back to dairy, we did so slowly- mixing milk based formula with soy based.

    I sure hope Priya feels better soon!!!

    Thanks so much.  I have to go out tonight, so I'll look for diarrhea-free formula  Big Smile  and start there.

    Hope Sabrina gets her tooth soon!
