Old Wive's Tale True for you??

I'm just curious if anyone else is finding this old wive's tale true for them too--if you're having a girl, you'll gain all over; and if you're having a boy you'll gain belly.

We're expecting a girl and, along with my belly, my thighs, my butt, my arms, etc. are expanding.

I'm having a boy and I'm gaining all over. Same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with ds #1 too.

I'm having a girl and I've been told by almost everyone that I'm all belly. My sister recently had a girl and she was all belly too.

Having a girl and so far the gain is just in the belly (well, and boobs, but that's sort of unavoidable I'm thinking).

not that specific one. ive only gained in my tummy and we are having a girl. i also had it very easy when it came to morning sickness - i basically just was nauseated all day vs actually getting sick.

however every single gender prediction 'test' and chart came back girl - not one said boy!

That was true for us as well (although I totally had the m/s, blech).

Everyone keeps telling me I am gaining only in my belly, and that I must be carrying a boy.

But the first place I gained was my butt/hips/thighs/chins. That's where I keep gaining, too. We're having a girl.

Most people are telling me I'm all belly and carrying high. I know I've gained in my hips, chin/face, and boobs. My thighs and arms are looking soft also but I think that's mostly because I'm not lifting or running much right now. I'm having a boy.

The only OWT that has been true for me is this LO's HB (a little girl) has been higher - always measuring in the 160's. DS's HB never left the 140's......

I find this one tough to answer. I still fit into my old clothes (which were rather tailored), except for the belly. BUT I feel larger all over.

Nope, I'm gaining my weight in the belly, not all over. Someone actually commented yesterday that from behind, they had no idea I was pregnant!

I have a daughter already and am expecting a boy this time. I gained nothing but belly both times. It's more noticeable/bigger this time around because it's my second pregnancy and because I lost a lot of extra weight between pregnancies. I don't buy into the OWT like that though.

nope! both the "stealing of beauty" one where your face is bad and the gaining all over one are untrue for me. With DS I had horrible acne and gained only belly. With this one...perfect face...gaining the exact same way, only bell...but just much much earlier. I think I'm as big now at 21.5 weeks as I was at 28 weeks with DS ::sigh:: Hopefully it will alll even out.

With my DS I was all belly - didn't show until 5 or 6 months. This time around, I am not sure if it is b/c it is #2 or a girl, but I am gaining everywhere. Also, I feel like she is up a lot higher. However, I craved fruit with DS and salt with this one .... so that was off for me :-)

Every OWT was wrong for me, the Chinese gender chart was wrong, and almost everyone's guess was wrong. However, I am having a boy and I'm gaining only in my belly (and boobs), so I guess this one's the only correct one for me.

I was looking at pics from last Christmas and I was like.. omg I was so skinny! So I guess it was kinda true for me cause I'm having a girl. My face has been totally fine which surprises me.. I'm hating my hair though.

I'm having a girl and I am all belly. No weight gain anywhere else, so I guess in my case it doesn't apply to me.

With this pregnancy no. We're having a girl and so far I'm having the exact same pregnancy as with DS - no m/s, only gaining in the belly, hair and skin still look good.

Both times it was all belly for me. I have a son and this one is a girl. However, this time my hips have spread already, so I actually have hips for once. I am carrying differently too, but definitely primarily gaining a belly.

I am gaining all over, to the point where I think I might even be growing out of my maternity clothes already (how is this even possible!!??) and I am having a boy. I have NOTICEABLY gained in my thighs, butt area. On a side note, every OWT's pointed for a girl for me as well.... baby has super high heartbeat every time since day one (or week 8 technically), my face has broken out, craving sweets, etc... and my baby is all boy :-)

Not at all. I should have two girls, and instead getting ready for my second boy! Even the heartbeat wives tale was completely wrong with DS#2.

I don't believe any of it. I just think people carry the way their bodies are meant to.

I'm all belly and its a girl. BUT, I do belive that girls "steal beauty." My jr. high like acne, oily hair and awful stretchmarks prove that to me! Don't even get me started on the strange things happening to the girls and girlie bits.
