My LO is a little over 6 weeks old. I'm wondering what everyone is spending on their LO since they're so young and can't really play with anything yet and 938491 people are probably going to be getting the baby gifts anyway...
I went all out. I know he's only 2 months old and doesn't know, but his birthday isn't until October, so I wanted to give him toys he will grow in to in a few months.
We got DS an exersaucer, a doorway jumper, a move and crawl ball (plays music and stuff, moves on its own), a leapfrog caterpillar that teaches the alphabet and colors, plays music and whatnot, and a couple of rattles/toys that attach to the carseat. Everything was used, so it was only about $40 total. I'm not going back to work until I find a new job and who knows when that'll be, so we didn't want to spend much. And of course, C has no idea about Christmas anyway and will get completely spoiled by his grandparents.
i spent 45$ on dd she got 3 outfits and a toy...new from burlington. my boys i spent more on they know who santa is and actually asked him for specific toys
Sawyer Quinn (09/06/06), Rory Keaton (04/07/08) and Kinsley Saffron (10/12/10). Forever and ever my babies they'll be. A rose can say "I love you",orchids can enthrall, but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist, yes, that says it all.~Author Unknown

I did too. I know my DD's only 3 months old and she doesn't know but I do. I bought her stuff up to a year. I bought her an excersaucer (which we would have bought anyways), a rocking horse- its adorable and I thought she needed it, baby einstein blocks, a couple different learning toys (fisher price riding pink horse, the laugh and learn dog), the 2010 holiday barbie- I bought this because I wanted her to have one from the year she was born, and my SO bought her legos- the big ones for around a year or so. They are the pink, dark pink, and blue ones.
I did pacifiers, a wubbanub, a little 2010 christmas moose, & a rattle for stocking stuffers.
we just bought a few little toys. one that was for 0+, two for 3mo+ and one for 6mo+... this way she will have a few toys... we didnt have any for her. i also bought two things from my registry when i was pregnant that i didnt get for my shower... one was a plush stacker toy and one is a blanket. she doesnt know what christmas is, but i still wanted to get her some presents. i know my mom bought some toys for her too, and a jewelry box because she is getting jewelry for her baptism.
a sophie, some rattles in the shape of tools and a chicago bears outfit, daddy will open the tool rattles and outfit. he doesnt know about them and they will make him smile.i spent @ $50 for all 3 items combined.
So far we have only bought DS a bumbo. We may also buy a twilight turtle or seahorse and I'm going to get some sippy cups and baby plates & bowls for his stocking. We won't spend more than $50 or $60 total.
