I'm hosting my family for Christmas Eve and I'm looking for some easy catering ideas where I pick it up and bring it home. I'm not opposed to doing some cooking; I just don't want to do it all. I have many ideas but let's pretend I have none so as not to stifle the brainstorming.
Could be apps, meat, dips, any cuisine, location, etc. The only limitation is that I prefer it not be sandwiches.
Needs to serve about 8 adults and 5 kids.

Re: XP: Need carryout catering suggestions
Bob Evans?
But seriously, not too expensive and could be yummy.
We've done Olive Garden before and their whole menu is available for takeout. I love Italian food any time of year
I also think Nothing but Noodles has a pretty nice takeout menu if I remember right.
Sounds fun. Count in my family. (tee hee)

Kel beat me to it!
But 100% honest. We are doing a full Bob Evans meal here at the office on Christmas Eve. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy rolls, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, beans or corn I can't remember which and a cranberry sauce. We don't have a way to cook anything here so it's our best option. We did the same thing last year and it's really yummy!! I know it's less than $100 and I think it serves 8. I know you can get it all cold too so all you have to do is warm it in the oven and it's fresh.
Honeybaked ham has options, you can check their website.
We've had both Boston Market and City BBQ catered in at work - both delicious.
City BBQ might have other options than sandwiches, like ribs, but I'm not sure. But I like their pulled pork, and the sides.
Haha, great minds think alike!
I agree! We just had it for our office party. Yum!

At one of my past jobs we always picked up food from Olive Garden (usually 2 or 3 large containers of a pasta, bread sticks, and salad) for our holiday party.
My family had carryout catering from Montgomery Inn too which was good. It seems like they had several options and everyone was pleased with it.
Its technically a sandwich, but my family usually gets the giant pretzel from Servatiis and some fruit and veggie trays from Krogers.

Nice. Great suggestions, ladies! Thank you. You all are the best. If anybody comes up with more, I'm listening...

Best caterer in Cincy! Owner is Michael, tell him Laura sent you. He does let you pick up and he can really make anything you want. Not just what is on his menu online.
I have to put the plug in here for BJ's

I actually thought of this place when I was giving Tyler a bath tonight (don't bother trying to follow my train of thought). BJ's is awesome food.....I don't think you can go wrong with them, either.

Dorothy Lane Market is north, but sooo worth the drive for this type of thing. Delicious! Good luck!
