Wow--Disney shows for bigger kids are HORRIBLE!

I left the room to get dressed and when I came back, Mickey Mouse was over and some show for older kids was on--I cannot believe how many times I have heard these kids and their parents say "shut up" "stupid" "Idiot" "whatever", etc, and just generally show each other absolutely no respect. 

WTF?! I guess as soon as he's too old for the little kid cartoons, our TV will be turning off for a long time...

    Yeah, we just had to cut iCarly and all those shows out. B started to only watch them and I was fine with it since cartoons are annoying but we noticed a major change in her attitude and I think some of it came from that. So, no more tween shows.

    Yeah, I've had to tell my kids to not watch TV at my parents' when their older cousins are there.  The shows are really bad.  The attitude is out of control.

    I put a parent access code on the iCarly channel for the exact same reason.  Awful.

    That's exactly why my kids only watch PBS and Nick Jr.  We watched the Charlie Brown Christmas special recently and every other word was "stupid".  I don't remember it being like that.

    I don't even like Phineas and Ferb for that reason. They are awful.

    N called mh a 'jerk' not too long ago.  He was so upset when he got in trouble, then it turns out he heard it on Phineas & Ferb.  Which, is a show I kinda enjoy.  But, yeah...I even noticed the liberal use of the word 'stupid' on Charlie Brown's Christmas.  It's disappointing!

    Totally agree.  Rory is just as into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as Cohen is, and she loves Little Bear.  When she was super sick a couple weeks ago, I let her watch a couple of those shows...Hannah Montana and Suite Life and while I was kind of entertained by them, I definitely won't be letting her watch them again.  I'm also entertained by Phineas and Ferb, but she isn't a fan of it.

    This is why Spongebob Squarepants isn't allowed to be watched in my house either!  I loathe that show!

    Thank you ladies for making me feel sane!!!! I was talking about this to my mil a while back and she told me I was sheltering my kids.... We watch nick jr. only b/c of this reason...The girls dont pay much attention to the tv through out the day and I pay even less attention to is so I never know what is coming up next I love nickjr b/c I dont have to worry about whats coming on next... I dont remember hearing stupid, jerk, idiots, butthead etc.. when we watched tv growing up!
