Chili Poll - NBR (obviously)

It is cold and snowy here and I have a pot of chili simmering on the stove.  As I was making it this afternoon, it got me thinking of all the different ways people make and serve chili.

How do you like it?

Spicy/Not Spicy?

Beans or No Beans?

Pasta? Corn Chips?  (I honestly never knew anyone ate chili without macaroni in it.  That is the only way we ever had it in my family)

What do you serve with chili?

Shredded Cheese on top?

Other toppings?

Re: Chili Poll - NBR (obviously)

  • Love chili!  I use my grandad's recipe.

We like it spicy! -- I use the spicy chili beans, hot chili seasoning, and Spicy Hot V8 for the liquid base

    With beans

No pasta.  We've always eaten it over white rice.

I serve it over rice, but nothing else with it.

LOTS OF shredded cheddar on top, but nothing else (I'm not an onion or sour cream fan)

  • Very spicy, lots of beans, NO pasta, cheese on top, maybe corn chips.

We always had chili and cornbread or chili and peanut butter sandwiches growing up.

  • Mmmmm...love Chili! I make it a little milder with a sweet/spicy kick to it. We boil potatoes, like you were going to make mashed potatoes, but don't mash them. We spoon them on a plate, smash with fork and then cover with chili, cheese, and whatever else you like!

Oh, and I never even considered using V8 as the liquid base..great idea!

  • Spicy/Not Spicy?  Spicy.  Very spicy.  I like the 2 alarm chili seasoning and hot chili beans.  I am very lucky Bryan & Ashli likes spicy chili too.

Beans or No Beans?  Beans.  Not a ton though.

Pasta? Corn Chips?  (I honestly never knew anyone ate chili without macaroni in it.  That is the only way we ever had it in my family)  Pasta but I don't mind without.  It is just what I am used to.  I wonder why my family serves it that way?  Seems odd that we seem like the only ones in the world that does this.

What do you serve with chili?  Usually cornbread.  Not sure tonight.  Looking for some new ideas.

Shredded Cheese on top?  Yes Please.

Other toppings?  Nope.  I hate onions.

    Spicy/Not Spicy? Spicy

Beans or No Beans? Spicy Chili Beans

Pasta? Corn Chips?  I have to have pasta, it took convincing bc my  husband grew up with no pasta in chili (silly california people!).

What do you serve with chili? Corn bread

Shredded Cheese on top?  I don't like cheese on mine.

Other toppings? No toppings for me.

  • Meaty, spicy, NO beans, cheese and crackers.

My coworkers actually just gave me the side eye because we had chili leftover from a program and I sat there with a bowl of chili and an empty bowl, putting the beans in the empty bowl.  :)

  • Not very spicy.

    Beans

Neither.  Unless its a chili 5 way from Steak N Shake, then I love pasta in it.

    Crackers and cornbread

    Yes

    sometimes chopped onion

  • I made a big pot of chili today also!

I have to make it mild since my husband is a wuss but I like it kinda spicy. I hate beans but he likes them so I do use beans. We eat it with peanut butter and crackers.
