I am pretty sure DS is getting ready to drop his AM nap. He fights his morning nap so bad lately. I can go in there 20 times before he finally lays down and goes to sleep. Problem is he is having a hard time making it to afternoon. He often falls asleep playing by 1 and then is up at 2:30 which makes for a very grouchy boy by dinner time.
Maybe he just isn't ready? Any tips?
Re: How did you drop the AM nap?
OMG I cant handle the cuteness that is your new puppy with DS in your siggy! They are going to LOVE each other.
Yeah, maybe he just isn't ready yet. Maybe I need to make all his naps later? Like morning nap at 10-10:30 vs 9?
Hehe, thanks... DS just started taking charge lately and kind of shoves her if she starts playing too rough with him. When she's being evil goblin puppy, she loves following him around and tries to pull on his clothes and nibble his ears. They both battle for mommy lap time, but if DS wants lap time, the pup is SOL.
I don't know about what to do.. J has always been pretty good about his naps.. I'll put him down about 2 hours after he gets up and he'll play quietly and then put himself to sleep... sometimes he fusses just before he goes to sleep and kind of thrashes around the crib a bit, but it doesn't last more than a few minutes before he falls asleep.
Absolutely. 10 a.m. is a very common nap time for babies who take 2 naps a day. Your LO may just not be tired at 9. But in my experience (I have a 2yo, too), 10 months is definitely too young for 1 nap a day.
We started 1 nap a day just recently as that is what his new age group in daycare does. He had no issue with it - instead of naps at 10 and 3, he now sleeps great from around noon til 2. And he's fine til bedtime. And he's 10 months.
