Opinion on boy name

My husband and I both like the name, Langston Anthony, but can't decide if we like it enough!! What do you think?

My little girl's name is Kinsley Elizabeth and I love how uncommon and unique it is, so I want to do the same for our son.

Thank you!

Re: Opinion on boy name

  • It's absolutely NMS, but I think it pairs very nicely with your DD's name.

  • It reminds me of Langston on CSI, which is kind of cool. NMS, but I don't see a problem with it.

  • Langston is a bit of a moutful for a first name. It requires the tongue to contort in weird ways.

It's just begging for a nn...and sadly I can't think of any nns for Langston that would work. (Langie, Lang?)

    I like the Anthony part.

  • I am so in love with the name Langston, I was actually going to name LO this if she were a boy. So obviously I say go for it!

  • I think it goes well with your DD's name. It's not something that would be on my list, but I think it could grow on me if it was someone elses's kid.

  • I think of Langston Hughes immediately also...but I don't think it's a bad name.  I really don't think it goes with Kinsley though, but that doesn't bother everyone.

  • I get the Hughes thing, too. [GREAT namesake, imo.]

I think it's a great name, pairs nicely, and seems to have a nice formal sound, yet you can have all sorts of uncommon nicknames for him, too: Lane, Langs, or more traditional ones like Gus and Tony [for Anthony].

    I like it!

  • I do not like it at all. Its a pretentious name that would make me wonder what insecurities the parents are hiding....

  • It is a mouthful- but not awful. I also thought immediately of Langston Hughes.

    I like it!

Agreed! Great namesake and great name. DH and I like it but I'm not sure if it fits us... so hard to pick the perfect name!

  • I love it, and it sounds really nice with your DD's name.
