Need OBGYN Recs...

Hello, I am 11 weeks preggo with #3 and I think I may switch practices.  My office has not been great with my SIL's pregnancy and the Dr's have been coming and going like crazy since I delivered both of my boys.  I go to White Square OBGYN near Franklin Square.  I think I would like to switch to a practice that delivers at GBMC or St. Joes.  I would prefer a female practice.  Looking for a places that takes time with the patients and has a good bunch of Dr's.

Thanks for any recs!

Re: Need OBGYN Recs...

  • Stephanie- Congratulations! Sorry I don't have any recs for you. I just changed myself from WS OB/GYN to another doctor in Harford County, (Although I haven't seen them yet). Anyway, I wasn't happy with the service I got during my pregnancy. Although I did have wonderful service at FSH and their NICU.

  • Congrats on #3.  I go to Ob/gyn specialist of MD although they only have one female doctor in the practice however; I am very pleased with them.  They have an office in Owings Mills and Lutherville I believe.
  • I have worked with this group (as a doula not as a client).  But that have a group of great woman OBs and some fantastic Midwives: Women's Health Assoc. (410) 337-98787300 York Rd Ste 201 Towson, MD 21204.  They deliver at St. Joe's.

    Good luck with #3 :-)

  • I go to Perinatal Associates. They deliver at GBMC. They are awesome. I personally see Dr. Hunter. I highly recommend the practice and the hospital.
  • I see a dr in Harford County too, but just wanted to say congratulations on #3 as well! :0)

  • I highly recommend Dr. Susie Chung. Her office is actually in one of the buildings right outside St. Joes. She used to have an office near me in AACo, but she lives in Towson so she moved her practice, I drive almost an hour but love her so much I didn't want to switch. When I have appointments I only see her, and she moved her practice to make sure she was better able to serve her patients when they went into the hospital. Here is her website

  • Congrats!  I delivered at GBMC and went to one of the practices located at the hospital.  I saw Dr. Weitz, Dr. Hunter, Dr. Cyseski & Dr. Kesler (all women).  I would recommend any of the docs they were all fabulous!
  • Congrats!!  I go to White Square too and except for my original DR they haven't changed that much.  The only thing I have a problem (or had) with is that they don't call to remind you of appointments.  I missed 2 early on ones because of it.  But now I know they do not call so it has made me a better remembering person.

  • I see Dr Elaine Lim at St Joe's.  I can't say enough awesome things about the practice which includes her sister and her mother.  I saw Dr Elaine for all of my appts and she was the one to deliver DD.  But during my stay her sister, Dr Joanne checked up on me and was also just as helpful and patient.

    GL and Congrats!

  • COngrats!!

My Dr delivers at Franklin Square but she is great. She is at the Honey Go Shopping center where right next to Sweet Fixations. Her name is Dr Francesca Rogers.  443-725-2140

I started going to her when I was pregnant with R. There is almost never a wait.

  • I'm another one with Perinatal Associates.  The practice is new to me since I had ds in PA but I really like them so far.  I've only seen Dr. Kesler so far but she is really sweet, patient and seems very proactive when you have concerns.

  • Congrats! I go to Charles St. OB/GYN and although they only have one female doctor in the practice (Dr. Erdman) I have had a great experience thus far and I am very happy I went with them after some recs on here. They are located right on the GBMC campus.

  • OMG! Congrats Steph!

I also switched from White Square when we moved to Harford County. I had a good experience, but, wanted something more personal with a smaller practice. My Dr.'s are associated with Upper Chesapeake (so I am no help!)...but my SIL goes goes to Dr. Andrea Collerius. 410-828-8077. She was very happy with her. She had been to her for many years for Gyn...but most recently used her for OB and delivered at St. Joes.

    Congrats again!!

  • Thanks so much everyone :)  #3 was a big Surprise for us!  We actually found of we were preggo on the day of my husbands scheduled vasectomy...ironic right...lol  We have two boys so we are keeping our fingers crossed for pink this time, although we would be completely happy with a boy as well.  We bought the boys big brother and biggest brother shirts for christmas to tell them ;)

I keep hearing great things about Perinatal Associates at GBMC.  Can any of the girls who use them tell me about the practice?   How many Dr's?  Hours?  Wait time for appts?

  • Capital womans care at St Josephs is awesome. Only one male doctor in the practice and he is really nice.

  • Perinatal Associates has 5 doctors. One male and the rest are female. Dr.Khouzami (male) and Dr. Weitz basically run the show at GBMC. Weitz is in charge of the Maternal Female Medicine (high risk patients see her) and Khouzami is the chairman of Obstetrics so the practice really knows what they are doing. Someone is always on call so you'll always deliver with someone from the practice. I am not sure on hours because I go in the morning but Friday is short. Some of the docs have offices outside of GBMC so that helps to speed up wait time. Wait time varies depending on day and number of people. I see Hunter and I really like her. Friends see Kessler, Cysezki, and Weitz and there are no complaints.
  • I see Dr. Kesler in the Perry Hall office and have not waited more than 5 minutes for my appts.  I've been to the GBMC office a few times as well and didn't wait very long there either.  I'm sure it depends on the day but I've been lucky so far!

  • If you wish to deliver at FSH, I recommend The Womens Care OBGYN at Franklin Square Hospital in Dundalk. They are all women. They have great doctors and midwife. I  love them. Congrats on pregnancy and sorry you are having problems with current ob. never good!

I see Dr. Joanne Lim and she is fantastic. She delivered both of my DDs, and assisted my old GYN with a female surgery I had before getting pg. I go to her office at St. Joe's and delivered at GBMC. She also has an office in Parkville which may be more convenient if you are near the WM area. The staff is great and very helpful with any questions. I highly recommend this practice. GL and congrats!
