anyone from birmingham AL?
We're PCS'ing there in february and I'm clueless. Trying to find a place to live is seeming to be impossible since all the apartments we think are nice all have shitty reviews. urgh.

I'm not from there but we lived there for three years. We lived in the Inverness area. The Lakeshore area is cheaper but not as nice. The Hoover area is also nice. How do you get to PCS to Bham? We loved it there, but DH wasn't military then and we haven't figured out how to get back.

DH is going to the USMC reserve base in bessemer on I&I. We've been looking in hoover and the surrounding areas but we've been finding some cute places and then they either never answer there phone or the reviews are horrible.
I normally don't read too much into the apartment review sites since most of them are written by people who had bad experiences but 16% rating? I'll pass.
Yeah I'd pass too. I had no idea there was a USMC base there. Hoover is a nice area but the apartments all over can be hit and miss. I toured one there once and the lady was so proud of the "walk in closet" that she walked in it...and it was a regular closet. NOT a walk in. LOL.
