Okay, I picked up this recipe from another nestie and have shared it since. It is super easy and a great sweet-salty combo that is kind of addictive (I know quite a few to call it Christmas Crack). After my sister raved about it on FB, having just made it for the first time, I figured I would share it with you all too!
2 cups Cheerios
2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups salted cocktail peanuts (no skin)
2 cups holiday M&Ms (plain -- just use a 1 lb bag and that's about right)
2 cups mini marshmallows (I don't like it with the mini marshmallows and usually omit in favor of more generous cups of the above -- most I know omit these too. I don't like the texture and makes it too sweet for me.)
1 package white almond bark/vanilla candy coating
Put all ingredients but candy coating in large bowl. Melt candy coating and pour over other ingredients. Stir to coat and pour out on wax paper to set and cool. When cool, break apart and enjoy!

Re: NPR: Christmas Crunch recipe
No.. marshmallow creme won't work because you need the chunks of marshmallow, not just the sticky sweet flavor.
That's really close to the recipe I shared with Pesky (I think?) yesterday. Mine's just froot loops and marshmallows, tho. Fruity Pebbles work, too.
It's the almond bark/white candy coating stuff that makes it really really sweet.
I make something similar called Reindeer Mix, though I like Christmas Crack better! LOL
The mix is 2 different kinds of Chex, Cherrios, M&M, crumbled pretzels and dry roasted peanuts and the coating is white chocolate. Its ridiculously addictive and I'm making it again this year! YUM!
