DH FAIL (rant).

So...my lovely husband left for Minnesota for a week, assuring me all the bills were paid and I'd be great on my own without him...if only it were.

About 3 hours after he leaves, the power and the heat turns off abruptly....I will note, It's less than 10 degrees here during the day and even less at night. I call the power company thinking simply a powerline was down...nope. DH was stupid and forgot to pay the gas/electric bill. FAIL.

So...they don't do reconnections without A)All of the next month's bill in advance and 2) without a deposit of half of it plus the previous amount...which was not pretty for my checking account. They only reconnect after a business day has passed....so until 9 this morning who was freezing? Me and the cat. I can't cook, I can't see anything....ugh. 

I am happy the heat and power is back now, and I'm not so pissed at DH...it happens. But I really would have liked not to go through that. It was freaking cold last night. I wore my coat to bed with my cat snuggled in it with me...sigh.

So how was your day?

    I'm sorry to hear you were freezing your tail off last night. You are much nicer and more understanding than I am! I would have torn my DH a new @$$hole. I hate being cold!

    Lol, I probably would have been less nice if I could feel anything after being numb to my core! I told him he better bring me back a present or something...or take me to dinner when he comes home because I ate peanut butter and saltine crackers for dinner.

     I agree, I would have freaked! Since it's winter in Michigan you have to be careful your pipes don't freeze, that would have caused a lot more problems!

    you seemed to be much more calm in that situation than I would have been. I would have been on the phone with him screaming. Glad to hear that you got everything turned back on!

    Yikes!! That is scary!!! I can see why you are mad!! I can't imagine how freezing you must have been, I don't even know what 10 degrees feels like but it sounds horrible!

    It sounds like something my DH would do, I am better at details, that's why I pay all the bills (and also so I can go shopping without him noticing Wink).
