shutterfly vs walmart/target for Christmas cards

So I REALLY need to order Christmas cards. Yes, I realize that I'm cutting it close.

I was going to do the nicer cards on the thick paper but now I'm thinking it might be easier (and cheaper) to have them done on  photo paper. Plus, I could get them out quicker.

How do the photo paper cards compare from a place like shutterfly compared to walmart or target? Is it worth the extra time it would take to get them from shutterfly?

Re: shutterfly vs walmart/target for Christmas cards

  • Due to the blog offer I have gotten mostly Shutterfly ones so far and they are really nice.  So nice that I might consider paying for them next year even though I am a cheapskate.

That being said, it seems like it is getting a little late to order online, wait for them to arrive, address them and send them back out so I'd probably just gowith a picture one from a local place fpr this year.

One word of advice.  Test 1 before ordering like 50 because sometimes the color looks funky.

  • Costco & sam's both do a nice job if you have a membership or know someone who does.  I wouldn't risk shutterfly taking a long time especially since a lot of people are ordering gifts & they are busy.

  • I only did shutterfly because I had the 50 free and they are SUPER NICE but with that said if I didnt have the free offer I wouldnt have dropped 200 bucks for them.......I would have went with Walgreens 1 hour!
  • I just got one yesterday that was really cute, I looked on the back and it said walmart. It was a Hallmark layout though (there was a tiny HM in the corner). The quality looked really nice and I bet they're dirt cheap.
  • I always sent Sams or Walmart cards and was happy with them, but the Shutterfly cards are a lot nicer looking since they're printed on cardstock.

FWIW, I ordered my free Shutterfly cards very late Sunday night, they shipped Monday and I received them yesterday.

  • Shutterfly has some cheap ones for like 34cents each. They're printed on photopaper.

Has anyone seen these? Are they better than the walmart versions?
