Babies: 0 - 3 Months

My baby's got a triple chin!

LO was 6lb12oz at birth. When we left the hospital she was 6lb9oz, and the nurses and pediatricians were thrilled that she hadn't lost much weight. At 2 weeks she was 7lb7oz. I just weighed her today, one day shy of 4 weeks and she's 9lb4oz! We have her one month checkup on Monday so I'll get an idea of how she's looking on the growth charts but does this seem like a lot of weight gain to you or pretty normal?

  • I think it seems normal.. DS was 6lbs 12oz at birth and at her 2 month check up she was 12lbs 14oz!! She is pretty chunky =) lol
  • That seems like a lot to me, but maybe my LO is a slow grower? Either way it just sounds like she's healthy!

My DD was 7 lbs 6 oz at birth, and 8 lbs 4 oz at her 1 month appointment.

  • Thanks for the responses. It just shocked me because DH says before we weighed her "I wonder if she's 8 pounds yet!" And I said I doubted it. She eats all the time though, so I don't know why I was surprised!

  • My little chunky money was 8.2 when she was born, 10.2 at her one month appt, we have her 2 month appt Monday and I'm betting she's at least 12lbs...if not more.

  • DS was 7 lbs 10 oz at birth, and at 1 month was 10 lbs 2 oz. At 10 days he was down to 7 lbs 7 oz - and he'd only been eating for about 5 days (2 days later he was at 7 lbs 15 oz). (He had lost a bunch of weight because they were only giving him fluids for the first 4 or 5 days as they tried to figure out what was going on with him. Turned out to be acid reflux which was causing sleep apnea - the apnea & reflux caused him to stop breathing his first night.)
