How much does your 2 month old eat?

I have a 2 1/2 month old baby girl and my Dr. says she should only eat 2 oz every 3-4 hours. How much does your 2 month old eat?

My LO eats way more than that. He demands 4 oz every 2-3 hours. His first feeding of the day is usually 6 oz. My pedi does say we're overfeeding him, but this is what LO wants. If we cut off LO before 4 oz, he's still hungry and continues to scream.

Same here. She eats 4-5 oz and sometimes 6 every 2-3 hours. Except at night she'll go 6-8 hours at night.

I BF but when she gets a bottle she will usually eat 4-5 oz. Although she had 6 oz yesterday at one feeding. She eats about every 3-4 hours. Similac sent me a chart and it said that a 2 month old eats (formula) 4-5 oz five to six times a day. Of course they want to sell you more formula so this might be a little high.

I thought my dr was pretty wrong because I was feeding her 4 oz every 3-4 hours and he said that she was eating to much and said I needed to only feed her 2 oz every 3-4 hours and we have been doing this new routine for about a week now and she still acts hungry after she eats. So at night I give in and feed her a little more and in the morning to when she wakes up because she will sleep 5-8 hours at night.

LO eats beteween 4-6oz in a feeding sometimes 8 if she has slept a reaaalllly long time about every 4 hrs

We are at 5.5 ounces every 3-4 hours.

Doctor tells us to feed her half her weight. Our baby is11 pounds, so we are feeding her 5.5 ounces.

If your baby is 9 pounds then you would feed her 4.5 or so.

My LO is only 6 weeks & she does 4oz... And if you only do 2oz she will cry & scream til she gets another 2.....

My baby used to go three hours between feedings, but ever since she started STTN, she eats anywhere from 2-4oz every 2 hours. Her first feeding she'll usually have 5-6 since she sleeps for 7-9 hours. I wish she would go 3-4 hours between feedings.

I bf my 7 week old, but sometimes supplement. When he eats formula, he has at least 2 ounces every two hours, but usually more. I think when he bf (sometimes every 1-2 hours!) he gets even more than that!

I EBF, but was gone for eight hours yesterday, and E was with my mom. I fed her in the morning, and then she had two 4 oz bottles of pumped milk while I was gone. Basically she eats every 2.5 to 3.5 hours, and if she takes a bottle it is usually between 3-4 oz.

DAMN, my LO would STARVE!!! He eats 5-6 oz every 2 1/2 - 4 hours. Dr says that he is not overeating and to feed him when he is hungry until he is no longer hungry. I think I would seek a 2nd opinion. My LO will be 12 weeks old tomorrow.

My guys would be skinny and underweight if I only fed them 2 ounces every 3-4 hours. That's ridiculous for my 2 month olds. They eat between 30-35 ounces per day.

You dont have a picture in your siggy , so I dont know what your LO looks like ,but unless your LO is over the average weight reccomended for her age, I dont know why your doctor would say that to you . Sometimes babies are just more hungry at different times and different days . I told my doctor I was giving my LO 4 oz every 2-3 hours but if he starts eating his hands and flipping out inbetween that period of time I feed him more , and the doctor was fine with that .

I agree with PP, I'd get another opinion. 2 oz is what most babies eat the first week of life! My LO eats between 4-6 oz per feeding, depending on when she ate last, but usually 3-4 hrs in between feedings.

LO eats anywhere between 2 & 4.5 ounces but the time frame is every 1.5 - 3 hours during the day. She has reflux so mainly at night around 6 she eats the 2 oz then she will eat 3 before we take her to bed. Sometimes she wakes int he middle of the night wanting more and sometimes she will sleep till 4 or 5 and want more. I just feed her on demand and if she does not want anymore I stop feeding her even if it is 2 ounces. She is gaining weight though. Actually come to think about it she only went down to the 2 ounces after her 2 month shots. As long as she has wet diapers and gaining weight I'm happy.
