Cruises? Military discounts?

My husband is coming home from deployment this summer and we are wanting to go on a cruise. I have never been on one so I am so lost. Any recommendations on cruise lines? Websites? Destinations? Or best places/ways to get military discounts. All info is appreciated :)

Re: Cruises? Military discounts?

  • We went on a Carnival Cruise for our honeymoon, you have to call to book it to get the Military Discount, they took about $150 off of our tickets..but we still ended up spending about $2K on the cruise and in Mexico! My DH loves drinking his beer, so alcohol and gambling in the casino on the cruise ship racked up a hefty bill =(

  • I've always booked my cruises with vacationstogo.com--they have military discounts listed and we've gotten a few perks here and there like a room upgrade. Never hurts to look!

Go to usaa.com.  Before you sign in, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.  Under Shopping and Discounts, click Trave Savings.  It will direct you from there.

  • We've always booked military rates directly through Carnival and usually get a room upgrade also.

This is for all the caterpillars that never became butterflies. And for all the butterflies that never felt the wind in their wings. And for all the hearts that had hopes and dreams of a wondrous flight together.
