I know there are some of us here who are planning on formula feeding. (Not going to get into the debates of breast is best etc. Either way, baby's getting fed and that's all that matters.) ![]()
My friend, who just gave birth, has some advice for us from her doctors. (It's also working wonders for her.) Instead of going through the pain of engorgement, they had her wear a bra and wrapped her up in a huge ace bandage. They said not to have it to where it cuts off circulation of course, but nice and tight. They also said that when she gets home, to wash some cabbage leaves, crush them just a little bit and put them in her bra to help dry them up.
That's advice I wish I had when DD was born. The engorgement phase was hell on me, especially when we realized that DD couldn't be breastfed. Just thought I would pass this along. ![]()
Re: For those who are going to FF
I really need to switch my mindset from TTCAL to PGAL, because when I saw FF, the first think I thought of was Fertility Friend. I thought that would be a strange thing to be posting about on this board, and even double-checked that I wasn't on TTCAL.
This pregnancy still doesn't seem real.
Good advice on the FFing, though. I will have to keep it in mind if my plan to BF our LO doesn't work out.
lol I still see Fertility Friend when I see FF. lol
I think it's always good to have an open mind. My friend wasn't comfortable with BFing either one of her DDs. In my case, we did try, but DD had GERD and jaundice. She wasn't keeping enough milk down to get rid of the jaundice, so we went with a special formula and she had to be on medication. I think I'm just preparing for the inevitable.

That's true. They had her wrap up before her milk came in. She said she's felt nothing so far, but it's only been a couple days. I'll keep up with her and if she's cursing it, then I'll let everyone know. lol
Do you want the two cans of similac I just got for free in the mail? One's infant formula and the other is infant formula for gassy or lactose intolerance.
lol- I hope for her sake she is not cursing in a few days.
