  • EVERYTHING!!!  They have chocolate croussants that are to DIE FOR!  They are in the frozen section.  They also have mini marangues (sp!) that are low in calories and fat but nummy treats!  So many great frozen goodies that are pretty healthy!  Also stock up on cheap but good wine; )

  • I really think you should get something nutritious.  Their peanut butter cups are the BEST I've ever had.

  • Ditto the wine suggestion!  Charles Shaw is the cheap wine ($2.99 per bottle?)....when they pair it up against $50 bottles of wine it wins.  YUM....now I want a glass Sad

  • I could walk there from my house.  We go a few times a week.

    Our staples:
cheese (much cheaper there than at other stores)
yogurt (store brand cheaper & thicker than yo baby, for DC)
    pasta
    canned marinara sauce
    nuts (almonds, pine nuts)
dried strawberries & bananas for DC
    juice boxes
    refrigerated pizza dough
    detergent
crackers (organic pb or cheese cracker sandwiches for DC)
    bananas (cheap!)

I buy most everything there.  Enjoy!

  • Ditto cwhip I love the mini peanut butter cups, they are great for baking (i have a few recipes in my blog i used them for) and just snacking on while watching late night tv.  I keep them in my freezer, so dh doesn't eat them. ;)

  • In the freezer section, they have brown and jasmine rice... they're in boxes of 3 bags each.  You just pop the bag in the microwave for 3 minutes and you have rice!   I love that stuff.

THey also have frozen mini ice cube tray things of chopped garlic.  I keep those around all the time to use in recipes.

Ben loves the "so this blueberry walked into a bar" fruit and cereal bars.  Good, cheap, and no high fructose corn syrup (which is like the first ingredient in Nutri Grain bars!)

Frozen "Fruit Floes" are their YUMMY popsicles.  Try Carribbean.  MMM....

Their produce is good and a good price too.

  • I didn't read anyone else's response yet, so I'll tell you my favorites!

First off, I like to buy the Yo-Baby yogurt there as it's $1.00 cheaper per 6 pack than the regular grocery store.

Pasta!  It has gone up to .99 a package, but it used to be .69 That is a GREAT price compared to the reg store.

Tomato Marinara sauce in the large jar.  It's like $1.69.  It is super yummy and it's the only pasta sauce I buy now.  So cheap and sure beats Prego or the like.

Frozen "Melange a Trois"   It's a 16 oz bag of 3 colored bell peppers.  Already cut up.  It's like $1.19 for the bag.   Great deal!

We always buy our Olive oil there.

Cereal bars.  $1.69 for the box.

Indivudial packets of Annie's Mac and Cheese.

I also always buy cheeses there for a party.  Great prices.

I love the little spreads and sauces too.

    You will LOVE it!

  • Oh, and their dry Jasmine rice.

They had a demo last year that was soo yummy.  I went back later to buy more of it and it was gone, but the demo lady told me how to duplicate the recipe and it's one of my super easy yummy staples.

Any Boneless pork (I use chicken if no pork)

1 jar of the TJ's Salsa Verde (the entire jar is like 120 calories too)

    1 can of Black beans.

    Jasmine rice.

The thing you used to be able to buy was the pork already cubed and marinating in the salsa verde sauce.  But now I just cube my own and add the jar of sauce.

Add the beans  then serve it with the jasmine rice.  YUMMY and easy

  • oh they have a curry simmer sauce that's really good too.  Just cook some chicken, put that on, let it simmer for a bit and you're done.  If you have the fast rice, even better

  • EVERYTHING is awesome! We do almost all of our shopping there. Have fun!!

  • Yum!  Love Trader Joe's!   Here are some ideas:

string cheese.  crumpets.  fig or peach mango yogurt.  milk chocolate covered pretzels.  brown rice in frozen section (the best rice ever).  cheese.  "avocado's number" guacamole - tons of avocado in it.  small carrot cakes the size of cupcakes - to die for.  gnocchhi with red sauce.  frozen french toast.  mac n cheese from frozen section.  personal size cornmeal crust pizza with spinach, feta, and kalamata olives.  personal size pasadena salad - yum!  red meat at times.  mozzarella in log form.  thompson grapes.  cut mango if not near a costco.  bananas.  baby arugula in a bag.  gravenstein applesauce.  candied pecans.  banana chips.  milk.  masala simmer sauce and punjab spinach sauce.  (you can buy their already cut and cooked chicken with this for a quick meal - serve with their frozen precooked rice.)  frozen battered halibut.  frozen mini chicken tacos.  ice cream bonbons.  wine and beer.  par baked baguettes.  calbee pea chips.  barbara's cereal - the best prices anywhere.  most of their cookies espec the oatmeal with white fudge drizzle and the small almond choc chip.  I love the brownie bites too.  They also have good cut flowers.

ha, ha... see my above post about the gluten/casein free diet that we OBVIOUSLY have not started yet :)
