We just found out we were 7 weeks pregnant a few days ago and I decided it would be a good idea to vacuum my sons rug in his room. Now I'm crampy. I laid down for 2 hours and its definitely getting better but I'm still paranoid. Before my son I had one miscarriage so I know what that loss feels like. I'd hate myself if I did something to hurt the baby. ![]()
Anyone else ever do something like that and everything turn out ok?
Re: Ugh I shouldn't have vacuumed
Unless your doctor has specifically told you to absolutely not exert yourself in the slightest, vacuuming shouldn't cause you to m/c.
I know you're just scared and paranoid, but realize that there's women on these boards who run marathons while pregnant and everything turns out beautifully.

This. Thank you.
If you feel like you're over working yourself, please do take a little break. But you can still be active and be pregnant. I've experienced a loss too.. and vacuuming, exercising, etc, whatever, won't cause it. If it's going to happen, it will happen.
Cramps are fairly normal, though. I still have cramps from time to time. As long as you're not bleeding, and as long as the cramps stop after a while.. you should be fine.

This and this again! Don't worry about vacuuming and normal daily activities. They're all fine. I milk cows and throw hay for a living and it's been a non-issue. Please don't worry about vaccuming. Although, I can see where some things cause cramping/over exertion more. I never liked the riding mower at the end of my last pregnancy. It hurt every time!
No offense but I have a physical job and work around our farm all the time. My doctor basically said women have been birthing babies for centuries and what do you think women did in old times. If you do something like that on a daily or regular basis then there is nothing to worry about...
We live our lives being pregnant does not mean you sit around all day and do nothing... (sorry if this sounds snarky) however you do what you have to do...
