Daycare policy and Pink eye

My child got pink eye yesterday at school. She woke up this morning and it looked like someone had punched her in her eye.  I called the school and they said that a little boys sister had pink eye.  So I am pissed b/c I am trying to figure out why the parents were not notified that this child  had been playing all weekend with his sister who had pink eye.  I understand that the teachers cannot do anything about it if they do not know.  But the parent informed the teacher and I did not find out until my child and already gotten it. Am I crazy? So know I have to make sure that my six month old has not gotten it.

Re: Daycare policy and Pink eye

  • It is annoying, but if the sister doesn't go to the DC then they don't need to post it.  Since the child didn't have it already they don't need to because he might not have gotten it.  DS had pink a little while ago and DS2 never got it.

  • I think you have unreasonable expectations. Ds has pink eye right now and I've already missed two days of work because of it. If I found out a classmates sibling had it, I wouldn't be pissed. I would be pissed if a parent sent their child to school with it though. Other than that, there's not much you can do. Even if they knew, what would you have done differently or have expected them to do differently?
