North Dakota Babies

It's official...G hates baby food!!!

She has never been that good with eating her baby food, and some days were better than others...but now she will barely eat it..She will close her mouth and turn her head...but I know she is hungry because if I give her pieces of cheese, or a waffle or mash potatoes etc she will eat it....It is something about the baby food that she obviously has no interest in....Even before I introduced "big food" she never was too impressed with baby food..And she has been introduced to baby food since she was 4 months old..It does not matter what I give her, she barely eats it....

Did anyone else have this problem? I guess it is okay to just start giving her "big kid food" afterall she does have 4 teeth and chomps away.

Anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone given their LO's big food and if so what have you given them?

  • Briley gets puffed rice and wheat cereal, abount a third of a bananna, avacado pieces, yogurt, cheese, grits, bits of bread (mostly at restaurants), and super puffs. She also shares my oatmeal every day that I am home.  She doesn't have any teeth but she noms away.  She still likes purees, though.  Tonight she had a banana but she also let me feed her mashed peas in between gumming the banana.  I would not seen any reason to not give her big people food, you could give her whatever you are having for dinner, just without spices and cooked soft.

  • Gavin hated it too!  He was about 10 or 11 months before he'd really eat any of it without spitting it out
  • Ian refused to eat any baby food after 8 months. Marcos prefers lumpy homemade soups. I give Marcos pretty much the same thing we eat and he only has 4 teeth.
  • Alexa was the same way. She's been on table food since 9 months and she didn't even get her first tooth until then. Teeth have nothing to do with it, as long as the food is tender they can mash it up with their gums. Trying makign your own baby food for her but don't completely puree it, just mash table food with a fork a little and see if that works.
