Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I can't stop crying.

Look, I don't have health insurance and I think I have PPD.. post from yesterday

https://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/46551093.aspx

I don't know what to do.

Today has been of course a rough day for Dylan... and I can hardly handle it. He won't nap and I just can't deal with it...right now, he is screaming in his crib b/c I have freaking tried everything and he won't go to sleep. These days are rare, but happen occasionally.

Put the 2 together and I'm a hot mess.

Re: I can't stop crying.

  • You need to call your OB.  Be frank and tell them you no longer have health insurance.  They will either work out payment with you or can refer you to a community service that can hopefully help on a sliding scale or for free.  Don't ignore it.  I'm sorry you are going through this!

  • it is very tough and im sorry! hang in there! i have PPD too and have been on meds for a month. they have helped but im still not fully myself!

what state are you in? dont you have medical assistance or health clinics? i know i get my prozac from walmart and its only 9$ WITHOUT my insurance! so all you need to do is see a dr to get the script!  maybe try calling whoever delivered your baby and see if they will set up a payment plan!

i know a lot of drs around here would help out if they were asked. they would rather take payments then have something bad happen to you or LO.

good luck. if you need to talk just PM me.

  • Getting help for your PPD has to be a first priority (yes, it certainly sounds like you have it). You should make an appointment with a PCP or psychiatrist or OB right away and pay out of pocket, and get on a generic of an antidepressant. Even if it's expensive- get help to pay if you need to. Research (or have someone do this for you) low or no-cost therapy options in your area. You need to tell your partner, family, and friends what is going on so they can support you, with help with the baby, supporting you by talking to you, whatever you need.

This is very, very treatable, and you can feel better (I'm a psychologist, I really do know this to be true).

  • What laurie said - this is not normal.  You need help NOW.

Is there anyone in your family or a friend that can come and watch the baby while you go out for a while to clear your head.  Don't be afraid to reach out.

    HUGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have PPD. Please call your OB or even your family doctor for help. Meds are not that expensive. I used to spend hours crying and felt like the worst person in the world for not cherishing the time I spent with C. Now I can actually enjoy my baby and the days are fun again.

  • It is cheaper for me to get my zoloft at Walmart without putting through my insurence. I get it generic for a dollar. Amazing.

    This this this!

I only go to walmart for my Zoloft. They also have an entire list of generics that are 4 dollars.

Definitely call your OB and let her know how you feel.

  • Where is MCC?  She has a list of walk in clinics.
