It might sleet tonight, so schools are already closed for tomorrow.
Some schools are starting at regular time, but releasing at 11 am. Why do they even do that? To let the parents drop them off, make arrangements to be off work, then come back and get them? Annoying.
I hope the college doesn't close, because I'm supposed to go meet with my new boss in the morning!
Re: The state of Alabama is shutting down
LOL! That's a strange thing to do the night before! Schools here usually only close early when they've gotten to school and a storm begins or it's worse than they thought it would be.
the opening and closing at 11 is very stupid. i would keep my kid home, as i suppose a lot will. we have schools going on the third snow day (the ice is horrid) and some that are opening tomorrow but not until 10.. (i assume so no one is driving in the dark? and in hopes that the semi warrmer temps finally melt the ice) it has been too cold in some parts of our state for ice on the road to even work.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Sissies.
The only time I remember school being closed the night before was when we had multiple feet predicted.

Yeah, I remember talking to my relatives in NJ, and they would talk about 10 foot drifts forcing them to stay inside.
We had an ice storm about 15 years ago, and it was really bad. Plus, you do NOT want to be on the road with Alabama drivers in snow/ice.
But I agree, we are sissies.
