This location may not be ideal for you but I traveled from Prescott to see him when I lived there. I liked him and his partner. WIth my high risk pg I saw my regular OBGYN as scheduled and him once a month and had a amnio with him.
Dr. Stephen Pedron, Arizona Perinatal Care Centers, Glendale 623-362-2266.
Basically you take the 101 East from I-17 and exit 67th avenue, turn left. Its on the same grounds as Arrowhead hospital just a few miles South of the 101.
Dr John Elliott is one of the best perinatologists in the world. I didn't see him - we lived in Tucson when my kids were born, but I REALLY wish I had traveled to see him. He has an incredible track record.
Dr Elliott used to be with Phoenix Parinatal Associates, but I have heard rumors that he left the practice. It might take some hunting to track him down, but I think it would be worth it.
Dr Elliott is still with Phoenix Perinatal (PPA) as far as I know. They were my high risk docs for my twins and overall I had a very good experience. They are also the "go to" team for high risk deliveries at Desert Samaritan and Good Samaritan so they have a lot of pull. When I was admitted a couple of times during the pregnancy, I felt like I got better care because I was with PPA.
My personal opinion though - I would avoid Doctor Mandragura (sp?) from that practice. She missed a complication during the pregnancy and my gallstones right after they were born. Everyone else was very good.
Hi there! I am a L&D nurse at Banner Good Samaritan and I would definitely recommend that you go to see Phoenix Perinatal Associates. Dr. Elliott has left the practice and moved to pursue his career in California. However, he may be returning in a couple years. The other doctors are very knowledgable and will take good care of you. With such a large group, you will probably see a different doctor at your many visits, so you will have a chance to meet many of them and can decide for yourself who you are most comfortable with.
You are definitely a high-risk mom and need to see a perinatologist. PPA delivers babies at many Valley hospitals.
Dr. Urig is a great doctor! He is with Maricopa Obstetrics and Gynocology Associates (MOGA). However, he is not a high-risk doctor and although they may be able to care for you, you will probably need at least a consultation with PPA given your history and risk factors. Hope this helps!
I was high risk also- I DR. Damian Bass he is soooo awesome. He took really good care of ma & baby. There is a PPA across the hall and they work together very well. He is on Union Hills & 63 ave. He deliveries at Arrow Head & Banner Thunderbird. I really love Thunderbird and they have great NICU if needed. Good luck to your family Good Bless
