Babies: 0 - 3 Months

LO doesn't like toys!

IDK why but she has no interest in ANY kind of toy. I've tried soft rattles, hard rattles, keys, playmats, this V-tech thing she lays under that sings, lights up and moves. She doesn't hate them, she is indifferent.

Is she too young to appreciate toys, or have I just not found the one that she likes yet?

  • My LO isn't exactly over the moon about them either. He'd rather stare at me. Which makes me feel good and makes him a major mama's boy.

This, she likes to look at pictures on the wall, look at the tv, lights, ceiling fans, etc. I just feel like I'm not stimulating her enough. BTW she would rather sleep than anything else. I try to talk to her and hold her, and let her talk to me but yeah our days are filled with sleeping and looking at the light.

Aw thats sweet, he will be a mamas boy and that's perfectly fine.

  • Dixon's favorite thing to look at and touch are the curtains above his changing table.  He plays with the rattle like toy in his bouncy chair, but won't have anything to do with the similar toys on his play mat.  I think it is because he would rather be sitting up.  Handheld toys are a bust so far.
  • Nattie likes when I shake her rattle or her "keys". But other than that she isnt amused by much other than walls and her momma and dad. She hates all things baby. swing, bouncy...HATE. But she loves her bath tub which has a rainforest frog  toy thingy.

  • she's young yet. Don't worry if she ignores things right now -- babies need time to discover things on their own, too. They can get overstimulated easy -- mine usually starts up with the waterworks when that happens. I'm sure you'll see a change by next month!
  • I sure hope so. She just seems to be moving right along with other things. She's already mimicking me talking, she is really good with head control, she smiles and laughs, etc. I need to remember that some things she will learn more quickly than others, and that shes only 2 months.
