Poop gate 2010 stopped but diaper rash hasn't improved. Didn't get the $100 butt paste and got a less expensive alternative. Aaron's tush is red and raw. Seeing pedi tomorrow.

He is SO freaking cranky today. I can barely focus.

But I can't blame him when I know his a$$ hurts.

I am so sorry. That sounds so painful! I swear by Weleda Calendula Diaper Cream and slather it on at the first hint of irritation. So far, it has worked like a charm. I get it at Whole Foods.

Have you tried Triple Paste? That is THE ONLY THING that works for M when she has diaper rash. She even had it so bad one time that she had an open sore and the Trip Paste was recommended by her pedi and cleared it up... GL!

Boo... Poor Aaron. It must be going around 'cuz Mikey's butt is sore too and he rarely gets diaper rash

We had that issue a month ago. It turned out to be a yeast infection. Once we got cream for that it went away with in days. Good luck. i hope your doc has answers.

We bought a small tube of Triple Paste to try and it helps but it's not going away. I know it could be a yeast infection... I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning. I figured after nearly 2 weeks it was a good idea to see a doctor.

Simon got his first real diaper rash last week when we were on vacation, it was horrible, he had tiny pinprick holes all over that looked like blisters that broke and had clear fluid in them. Since we were in Canada I called my pedi and he said to try alternating Lotrimin and cortizone cream but as soon as I tried the cortizone it got better so I used that all day and Desitin at night and the rash went away. I also stopped using wipes and washed his butt with water and a soft washcloth when he pooped. I hope Aaron's clears up soon, poor little man!

That sounds terrible, poor Aaron and poor Robyn! No advice, S has never had diaper rash, but lots of sympathy.

As mentioned in pp, it may be a yeast infection. My neighbor's daughter spent countless $$ and pedi visits before her daughter was diagnosed 6 mos later. Triple past had been able to clear her diaper rash, but it still came back. One round of antibiotics, and she was good as new. I intend to keep this in mind for DS.

Right now there is a virus going around which does cause diaper rash (DS had it last week), but it wouldn't hurt to ask the pedi to test Aaron for a yeast infection. Good Luck, and I hope he feel better soon!

Hey Amy, thanks for following up.

Aaron is cutting the two bottom molars now. I think that's it though for all I know he could be cutting his canines, too. He has all 8 incisors and the two upper 1st molars.

As for his tush... it's not completely healed but the anti-fungal cream did the trick. It's definitely on the mend. And that triple paste is really good stuff. We bought a big tub and will make sure to always have some around.
