NBR: HoneyBaked ham

We were thinking of ordering a half ham for Christmas. I've eaten their sandwiches, but never ordered a ham.

Has anyone else?

Thanks!

Re: NBR: HoneyBaked ham

  • I've never actually ordered one, but I have received them at Christmas from employers in the past. We are getting one from DH's work this year. I think that is where FIL got the ham at Thanksgiving. They are pretty good.

  • They are YUMMY!  Plus, good snacking later, and good soup making - ham and bean, split pea.  Now I want one!
  • I have never ordered one (or baked one before) BUT... if anyone has time - look up the recipe for dr pepper ham. My Mom made it once. I guess you just buy a regular ham, then coat the outside with dijon mustard and brown sugar. Then, not sure how, but you add burbon and dr pepper. YUM, YUM, YUM! It was the best ham I ever had.

  • Their hams are good (although I ave up pork a few years ago). My biggest complaint was they don't have smaller hams. I always had too much left over.

  • I thought it was good, but the price just seems ridiculous to me. I don't know if the price varies depending on where you live, but here it is over $8.00 a pound for the half ham! I can get a very good spiral sliced ham for about $3 a pound, add my own glaze and use the rest for something fabulous to go with it...

  • I agree.. they're way overpriced.  Tasty, but way overpriced compared to a good ham at the grocery store.
