Well we haven't been too luck in the fertility department with DH's tumor and my kidneys being total jerks, but today was a good day. We're stll waiting my kidneys to board the IVF train, but I wanted all my testing done, so I did the last thing today.. the HSG. I've been DREADING the HSG for months since she told me I should have one and I finagled my way out of it. I'd heard so many horror stories. I took some xanax just to relax me and 4 motrin and I went in for the procedure - no hubby. I am NOT good with paps. They hurt, and I can feel the scraping and stuff. Well they put the speculum in, which, of course, was a little uncomfortable. I thought I could feel her doing something else in there but I wasn't quite sure... and then she said I was done. I thought she meant she was done the prep, but she said "No, you're done done". I didn't feel ANYTHING. I sat up (no leaking) and she showed me the xray to prove it. I put my clothes on and hubby drove me to work (because of the xanax) and I feel GREAT. No pain, no nothing. I can't believe it. And everything was perfect. I have always had weird pains so I sort of expected something weird in there but there was nothing out of the ordinary. My uterus was a perfect little triangle.. and it's actually right in the middle, with my tubes almost equidistant out to each side. she saw spillage from both, and it must have been quick because from speculum insertion to "all done" was literally MAYBE a minute 30.
This was the last stop ont he IVF journey. We have the money, so as soon as my kidneys cooperate I can start BCPs! I'm so excited!
Ok, if you've made it through all that you're a saint, but I had to share how excited I am!
