You need x-rays. And if it's not a bad break, or one on a small bone, a boot. And if it's bad or on a bone that gets a lot of stress I'm sure a good podiatrist would recommend a pin.
I hope all you did was bruise it.
And while you wait to go to the dr I recommend that you elevate and ice. And if you have anything like an ace bandage wrap it to reduce swelling.
Well it would really depend on where you broke it and if it is a fracture or a brake. There are so many different things with feet.
Where did the wood fall on your foot? toes? Mid foot (above arch)?
Right on the top. In the middle.
I would go see the Dr. tomorrow. I would think they may put you in a boot. but you never know if the bones or bones are cracked, fractured, or broke. I would think that at the most that they could be fractured. But you never know.
If you are trying to avoid the ER, just Ice and elevate tonight. But you need to get it xrayed. I wouldn't risk not seeing the doc, and injuring it further or having it heal wrong - then you could need surgery.
Hopefully it's just badly bruised, but I wouldn't risk it.
