I just had my first u/s and I'm 7w2d and the RE wants me to go in this week for a 1 hour GTT - I thought this wasn't done until much later in PG. She actually didn't mention it to me, but it was on my d/c paperwork. She also wants me to do one after 12 weeks when i'll stop the metformin.
I'm not IR - I had a 2 hour GTT during my IF testing and my results were super normal.
Anyone else do one really early? I don't know how I'm going to get that orange liquid down while I'm nauseous.
Re: PCOS and early GTT?
I wasn't IR either before being pregnant even though I have PCOS and I am not overweight but they made me do one and well you know how that turned out.
I couldn't keep down the orange one but they gave me a lemon lime I was able to keep down for long enough to do the test.
It is not fun but I am glad they caught mine so early. I started doing the finger pricking at home last night.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
It is better to know sooner rather than later. And I am overweight and PCOS so I guess its a good precaution to be monitored, but man I don't know how I'm going to stomach that stuff. When I did the 2 hour in July it was the orange stuff, I'm going to see if they have lemon/lime - the orange was nasty.
Hopefully I'll have the results by the end of the day tomorrow.
How is the finger pricking going?

I stayed on Met until 12 weeks so they didn't test me during that stage. I made my OB do an early one at 16 weeks because of my levels when they did my IF testing. I passed the first time, I did another at 28 weeks when everyone else does it and failed that time.
Personally, I think 7 weeks is a bit early but I do think it's very smart to do early testing with pcos. The sooner you know the better so you can avoid complications. But ask them about it if you're unsure.
