  Maybe try looking on craigslist for someone who is trying to build their portfolio, I've seen a few postings on there and they seem legitimate with a link to their website and a few examples of their work.

  We used Sarah Culver for our family photos and she's coming to our house after our twins our born to take some pictures. She is not horrifically expensive and she'll give you a cd of all the pictures she has taken. Highly recommend her!

  I'll second Sarah Culver.  She came to the house to take portraits and they turned out great.  Wasn't expensive, and she gave me a CD with all the images so I could go and print whichever ones I want on my own.

  I highly recommend Stacy Meadows- I think she is wonderful. She has done engagement pics and pics of us and the dog. Stacy is in Pasadena, but I know she travels- she came up here to Parkville for us.
