We frequently skipped days in the beginning if she or I was too tired or schedules didn't align. Now that she eats 2-3 meals of solids a day we don't, but before was fine. It actually seemed to help her a couple times - like taking a couple days break gave her time to get used to it or something.
At this point solids are just for practice/fun so I don't think skipping has any negative effect - at least it didn't for G.
She just recently started nursing less - not dropping a feeding, just taking 4 ounces vs. 5 ounces when bottle feeding and that was more my doing to help her adjust to multiple meals of solids vs 1.

I think it's okay. Sometimes it's hectic or they're not feeling it or are sick or whatever. At your LO's age amd just starting, I think you're totally fine. I think it's a matter of how much/often you are feeding them; if it's a little bit once a day, I would be okay skipping a day every now and then. If it's 3-4 times/day, then I wouldn't skip unless they're sick or something.

I agree. Skipping meals in the beginning is fine. Ds didn't even seem to notice. Now that he has 3 full meals and 2 snacks I really can't skip any meals. I can still skip a snack here and there. I wouldn't recommend feeding as much as I do... I'm just doing it because it's what the nutritionist said to do since he won't take BM.
Like PP's early on we would skip a day here or there. I didn't do it often because both DS and I do better with a routine but if things were busy, if we were on the go and didn't have food with, if he wasn't feeling well, etc... we would let it slide. As she gets older and starts enjoying food more you'll find the point where you know you need to give them to her every day.
Re: once starting solids, ok to skip a day?
