Question for those of you on Clomid

I will be starting Clomid once my period arrives. What days do you take it? I can't remember if my RE said I would start on Day 3 or 5. Also, if you normally ovulated later in your cycle (after day 20), did it make you ovulate sooner? I really hope it will make me ovulate sooner in my cycle!

I'll be starting my first Clomid cycle when I get my period also. My RE wants me to call him when I get my period (which should be on or around Christmas Day, not sure how that works). He said I will be starting on CD 5 but that he will give me specific instructions on when to take it when I call.

I'm interested in responses to your second question as well!

Without Clomid I ovulated anywhere between CD 26 and 45. Mostly days 40-45 though. Last cycle I took Clomid days 5-9 and ovulated on day 17 (+OPK on day 16). I hope it works for you!

I took Clomid on Days 3-7, however you can start it either day 3, 4, or 5. I will hear from my doctor tomorrow as to whether I will go back on it this month and if I do it will be 4 or 5 that I start it since tomorrow is CD 4. I didn't ovulate regularly without it, with it I ovulated CD 16 and had 32 day cycles.

My first iui cycle my RE had me start on CD5 and then triggered on CD 12. With my 2nd and 3rd iui I started clomid on day 3 and then I took follistim for 5-6 days and triggered the next day. So it really depends on what your RE wants you to do. Prior to clomid, I would O on CD10, but once on clomid I O'ed on CD 14.

For the 2 rounds I've done I took the pills on days 5-9, then ultrasound on the 14th or 15th and triggered the same day as my ultrasound. I can't really comment on if it made ovulation earlier b/c I don't ovulate on my own.

I took Clomid from days 4-8. I don't ovulate without Clomid, but with it I had mature follies on day 12 one month and day 13 the other and triggered that day.

I took 150mg cd3-7, triggered cd11, and IUI CD 13 (tomorrow). At my U/S (Friday) I had 2 mature follies and 1 that might catchup. This is the same exact thing we did for DD (it worked the first time) except it was 100mg and I only had 1 follie. (conceived twins, but lost one in first tri. Not sure How that happened. Keeping my fingers crossed that this IUI works for #2!

I have been taking Clomid on CD5-9, then I trigger ovulation with an Ovidrel injection. Ask your RE about whether or not you will trigger. If you do, it increases your chances because you will know exactly when you O. I do generally O much later than most, but OPKs have not been very accurate for me, so triggering and knowing exactly that my follies were ready and that I would O in 36 hours was reassuring. GL!

If clomid is short for clomiphene I start soon after a round of provera to bring my period on, she told me to startd it cd2 though!

I am waiting for my period to start too, so I can start my clomid. Last month I took 50mg days 5-9 and this month I will be taking 100mg days 5-9 again. My doctor says I might be ovulating every 4 months or not at all based on my charts and symptoms, but I didn't ovulate my first month on clomid at all. My doctor said I should ovulate on day 16 when taking it days 5-9. My charts were all over the place though, so I don't know when I could have ovulated in the past if I even did at all.

Hello Cashis: It seems that you and I have some things in common. I took Provera on Nov. 16th and started spotting on Nov. 26th around 6:30 pm so I was told to count Nov. 27th as CD 1. Therefore, my doctor told me to take Clomid (50 mg, since this is my first month on clomid) on days 3-7. I will be going in on Thursday to see if I have any follies as well as to get a progesterone test done to see if I O'd. I took my last clomid pill on Dec. 3rd which would have been CD 7 and I THINK (it's hard to say b/c I never O'd before and I'm not sure if I O'd this time b/c I don't have a lot of the LH hormone so it's hard to say if it was even present on the OPKs.) I thought I saw a positve for Ovulation but my DH said no. So, I don't know for sure. We shall see on Thursday. I try to chart my temps as well but they have been all over the place and because AF never arrives on her own (she can go a year or more without showing up, unless I take Provera) it will be very difficult to know if I O'd or if I get prego. Either way, GL with everything!
