Re: flying while pregnant

  • You got it.  Drink water and walk around.  I flew to and from Toronto and Nashville when I was pregnant and I was fine.  Its a short flight so i wouldn't worry about it too much, you'll be ok :)

Oh, and it's a metal detector, not an x-ray machine at the airport that you walk through so that's ok too.  I know you didn't ask, but I remember seeing that question a lot on the trimester boards.

  • I flew to Texas and had no trouble, and took no precautions.  Have fun!
  • you'll be fine!  i flew from here to England and I just made sure to drink tons of water and get up and walk around.  have a good flight!
  • I flew at about 25 weeks or so and did not wear compression hose. It was a 3 hour flight to Boston so it wasn't too bad. I just drank water and walked around.

BTW depending on what airline you're on, see if you can buy the bottled water once you have passed into the terminal. I flew on Spirit (WORST. AIRLINE. EVER.) and they actually charged you for water!!! Unbelievable!!!! On the return flight, I made sure to get some water once in the terminal so I wouldn't have to deal w/ flight attendants.

  • Ditto Dawn. I did what I usually did re: food, drink, etc. I flew up to freaking Minnesota at almost 7 months pregnant. Just try and get an aisle seat so that you can easily go pee and get up when you need to stretch.

  • ditto the other girls about water and walking... also, i'm not sure how far along you are, but certain airlines have rules about flying past a certain week, so i took a doctor's note showing how many weeks i was and that i was ok to fly!
