would u buy used nursery bedding?

Gross or no? I was looking on craigs at pottery barn kids bedding. I feel kind of weird buying used sheets. A used quilt doesn't seem to bug me so much.

Re: would u buy used nursery bedding?

  • I'm not sure, but I did buy the Ultimate Crib Sheet from Once Upon a Child in perfect condition for $2. What a steal! It's obviously going under LO's bedding, so it doesn't bother me at all.

I might buy used bedding, but only if it were in really good condition (no stains, etc.) and I washed it/sanitized it first. Probably not 100% necessary, but it would make me feel better. Smile

  • As long as you can wash it really well in hot water I don't see why not.

  • As long as you can wash it, I see no problem with buying used bedding.

  • I always go off  "would i do it for myself?".  And in this case I wouldn't.  Probably perfectly safe if washed, but I couldn't put used sheet on my bed, especially if i didn't know who they belonged to first!  Maybe if it was passed to me from family?

  • Maybe not the sheets. They are probably totally safe if washed, just grosses me out a little, but quilt, bumper, everything else is cool. I would get my own sheets though.
  • Absolutely not.

  • We are huge buyers and users of used things. It just needs to be washed in hot water and then--if possible--dried on hot for some extra germ-killing power (or in the summer, before washing put in a black garbage bag and put out to "bake" in the sun). That said, I am a little bit opposite of you on the items that I might second-guess: sheets are lightweight and can be easily, thoroughly cleaned. It is thick stuff with batting in it that I think twice about.

  • I would buy (or accept hand-me-down) sheets from friends or family because I know where they came from, but not from someone I don't know.
